John is a threat to them because he is articulate and intelligent, like our leaders from back in the day. We love John. His voice, his life, he has walked the walk as a human being. He speaks for us. I don't know what "We are the New Indians" means. The only new NDNs are our children, not "New Age" wannabes imagining they are us. People need to be happy in their own skin. Putting feathers on doesn't make you a Tsalagi anymore than doing the moonwalk makes me black.
I am native. I am white. I have been raised as wild as the wind. I will sit erudite among civilized men. The circle is unbroken by technology, ignorance, hatred, or sadness. Leaving bad emotions behind is the european teaching..not just madness. Saving our earth mother and venturing to sojourn with her sisters is the only way. Lending yourself to her predestined process of righteousness and renewable energy each day . I cry blood...no more.

I don't support nor respect the American Government nor any other government, and even though the earth is usually raped by the white race i think that the problem is the system they installed upon the planet, and whoever subscribes to it becomes corrupt, no matter what their color (see: Dick Wilson). It's the entire civilization they have created/enforced upon the earth that needs to be annihilated, not just one political party or government or political system.
They're all part of the same oppressive world they've cleverly created, so that we'll fight against each other, black against white, red against white, left against right, straight against gay, protestant against catholic, and forget about them (the real enemy) in the process.
Anyways, i'm sorry what happened to your people. The romans did the same to our tribes (i'm from berlin/germany), but you were the last truly free people on earth. If you took your land back i'd go home tomorrow. KEEP FIGHTING!
John Trudell is a true warrior for native people. That's my grandma Delores Cooke's cousin so That my family. I'm so proud to know that one of my family member's fought for the indian rights. Yeah hell yeah he knows how to fight for his indigenous people.
A beautiful video to honor a man with more conviction and love for this great land than most will ever experience in 10 life times. He's one of the few that realized how relentless capitalism would become if left without any supervision. We will meet again great brother, in another world, one where men, women and children live for eachother instead of material existence!
As always I am honoured and blessed by all the comments that arrive on this video, and the number of hits it gets......... John Trudell is the only man (as well as Max Igan) who seems to see what is going on and speaks eloquently and consistently against what has become the Wasichu attitude running riot on Mother Earth.
@walkingbear56 I am am a wasicu; I was born that way, but I saw what happened. and I and my woman saw John talk in Portland 20 odd years ago and he said: "You all are the new Indians" . A tear came to our eyes, and a fire to our hearts!
I wish i could have been there back th I would have stood with the indidans and killed as many white idiots as I could. Because of what happened to the indians I am ashamed to be white. This wrong can Never be made right.
@ANNA00732 - It is not history. The genocide continues to this day. Indians are still being denied fundamental human rights. In 2007, the world voted to pass the UN Declaration of Rights of Indigenous Peoples. !43 voted for, only 4 against - all 4 being outposts of the British Empire: New Zealand, Australia, Canada and the USA. NZ and AU since ratified it. Last Friday, so did Canada. The USA is now the ONLY nation in the world that has refused to acknowledge Indigenous Human Rights. Still today.
"Lines From a Minded Mind," Thank-you so much! Crazy Horse, Sitting Bull, Chief Joseph, and Dr. Charles Eastman, I hear and feel your heart. Onate, I can't print here what I'd like to say.
And there is also the fact that many of us don't have "Indian Names" anymore...With the aspect of an American Census,it behooves us to have another name...I'm 49 and among what's left of my people,I am one of the few who has an 'Indian Name"...
Always this talk about the evil white race.....the white race lost its way....coming from homelands that were always torn by war and deceit....but they also have great ancestors in the celtic and germanic tribes..... lets stop this race nonsence....
@kveldulf1971 I agree, the ancient Celtic and Germanic culture still has so much to offer. Our pagan ancestors were a rowdy bunch but they were also wise, spiritual and honourable. Christianity raped the ancient European cultures and robbed us of our dignity...and then we went to America and did the same.
To the First Nations of America...I am sorry on the behalf of my European ancestors. If only we could turn back time. If only you could have encountered my pagan ancestors instead (cont.)
@kveldulf1971 and given the chance to see that they also worshiped this planet and nature. Believe it or not...we had a Great Mother, A Stag King, Odin...Father of magic and all mankind, Thor...protector of all mankind, Freya...Goddess of Love and Fertility and protector of The Elves...I could go on and on. And I believe that just as it was to your ancestors,he Raven was sacred to my ancestors too.
As I said, if we could only turn back time, then our races might have embraces each other instead
@TheDraeStar I think i like you very much! Indeed christianity was the first plague that killed the germanic an celtic spirit, and also the roman empire, and its collapse, the teutonic kings took over the throne of rome and it went wrong from that day on. I am sorry the natives on turtle island encountered sicko's like Custer, i understand their feelings towards the white race because of the way they still are being treated, but every white is not evil, and we do have beatiful ancestors.
@kveldulf1971 I can understand some German, so I will do so...thank you :) But another thing...I am Asatru and in the Asatru there are both Gods and Godesses. But the little I know about the Lakota religion then there seems to be no Goddesses. I am sure I am very ignorant and to be honest, I have only read breifly about Wakan Tanka and heard of White Buffalo Woman and The Great Grand Father. I am just curious, got no plans on becoming a plastic indian...but where can I find more information?
@TheDraeStar i will try to find info for you and post it on your channel. When you are asatru, go to the website og eldaring...this is a good group of asatru people.....i go now and find an answer to your question.
We can't act like human beings because we have ever so subtly been removed from the connection with the environments so that we are no longer Homo Sapien but have exchanged our heritage to become Homo Economus.
To all those relatives past and present who did the brave deed and danced that dance of hope to keep our spirits strong .. pilamaya. This old heart soars when I hear your voices raised in song and supplication of honor to our ancestors.
Native American culture speaks to me on many more levels than the neocon spiritually void bankrupt culture that is so prevalent today...FREE Leonard Peltier

@walkingbear56 regardless of race,,we're all human beings on mother earth, WE must all awaken and shout in one voice that we are sick and tired of this reality. Stop the hunger, the war, the racisism, and especially the pollution, and corruption in our government which has been making FEMA internment camps for all of us to be locked up on when this economy finishes it's collapse. Hi Walkingbear56, I used that song on radio in Brittany back in 1989, my way to celabrate the 5th century Colombus discovery by braodcasting a fortnight's programme on a local breton radio, about native americans, John Trudell among others, translating the words of this song in Breton language, and trying to have people realizing what must still be said. Thanks for posting this video
wzinsima: walkingbear is right. Trudell sounds like it has French origins, not surprising since the French traders traveled throughout the now US/Canadian border and down into the plains. Many took Indian wives.
The best man at our wedding, a Lakota from Rosebud, had a last name of French origin but he also had a Lakota name. I will not say it out of respect for him (RIP, kola) but this could account for the name "Trudell".
haha you called me out.. sorry my man. This poem was written by John Trudell. You put the video together well. And it warms and chills me everytime i see it. I wanted to share this with others. I did not mean any offence to you. Actually, I would think you'd appreciate that. Well, you have my apology sir.
I was refering to your name or guise on YT...you are right NATIVE is a way of life..and no matter what percentage bllod 100% or not...it is a stance upon the world in a good way.
Yep I get them same chills..John is a very talented and truthful writer..
As John said, the american flag being flown upside down is a distress call.. burning the flag is all you can do if it has been desecrated. The government/ruling class in america should be ashamed of the desecration they have put upon its red, white and blue. They should, but they have no shame or sense of humanity.
They stole the eagle, the stars .. even the flag is based upon NDN symbols. Like the declaration, taken from the Haudenosaunee peoples Great Law of Peace. Thieves the lot of em.
How true, from the heart and very realistic. These days people don't care for people. Right on brother Trudell. All that is important to most of the people these days is how much material things that they have (material harvest). One earth, one mother..how do we sell our mother, how do we sell the stars, how do we sell the air? The words of Crazy Horse himself. Crazy Horse, we hear what you say.
is it wrong for me to dislike Thanksgiving day simply because the "new comers to this land" tried to kick the Natives off their own land and make it their own, took their weapons while keeping their own on them, and raping their woman/killing them? though they "came together" because the Natives helped the starving "new comers", I don't like Thanksgiving day. I call it "Indian Giver day". :/ does that make me unAmerican, or Pro-Native American?
I've been watching Chris Eyres series here in France about the first settlers. The interaction of the Wampanoag and the Pilgrims in colonial Massachusetts.
The settlers were given all in friendship, and slowly saw the land being taken away from them. Settlers like weeds taking land, and assimilating the natives in the name of christianity.
It is probably the most heinous crime ever committed on this earth. So thanksgiving, Columbus was a pirate!
So I'm not just seeing things! Good. Because it always seemed in some "back burner stories people don't always hear" that people were used as slaves, and young ladies taken in as wives - actually just raped; and of course the hypocrisy with "leave your weapons at the door... but i don't have to - nor do I when I visit you" just rubbed me wrong too. And the forcing of accepting "God & Christianity" as well.
If you get a chance to find "Ghost Dance Bill Miller " on You Tube, he says some things at the beginning of the song that show what really happened at Wounded Knee.
Glad you found it... Oh I think we don't know even the half of it.
I cannot understand how one human being can do something so brutal to another human being. We have a lot to learn still about living on this planet together... not much time left to learn it neither!
I do not call them settlers I call them occupying forces. Which is realistic because they did occupy land that did not belong to them, this is indigenous American peoples land. Get this straight and let every foreigner know this. As long as aboriginals do not have equal opportunities on their own land then the guild of stealing land rest on all foreigners who are against the aboriginals. I am with the aboriginals.
Phonomenal video. You did a great job. Thank you ever so much for posting this. Crazy Horse was always my favorite. Such a warrior. At least they are all free now.
We must not fear those who come in ignorance with words full of hate. We should fight these words peacefully and with wisdom. In the spirit of Crazy Horse!

RESISTANCEFIGHTER 1 year ago
They're all part of the same oppressive world they've cleverly created, so that we'll fight against each other, black against white, red against white, left against right, straight against gay, protestant against catholic, and forget about them (the real enemy) in the process.
RESISTANCEFIGHTER 1 year ago

Always this talk about the evil white race.....the white race lost its way....coming from homelands that were always torn by war and deceit....but they also have great ancestors in the celtic and germanic tribes..... lets stop this race nonsence....
kveldulf1971 1 year ago
@kveldulf1971 I agree, the ancient Celtic and Germanic culture still has so much to offer. Our pagan ancestors were a rowdy bunch but they were also wise, spiritual and honourable. Christianity raped the ancient European cultures and robbed us of our dignity...and then we went to America and did the same.
To the First Nations of America...I am sorry on the behalf of my European ancestors. If only we could turn back time. If only you could have encountered my pagan ancestors instead (cont.)
TheDraeStar 1 year ago
@kveldulf1971 and given the chance to see that they also worshiped this planet and nature. Believe it or not...we had a Great Mother, A Stag King, Odin...Father of magic and all mankind, Thor...protector of all mankind, Freya...Goddess of Love and Fertility and protector of The Elves...I could go on and on. And I believe that just as it was to your ancestors,he Raven was sacred to my ancestors too.
As I said, if we could only turn back time, then our races might have embraces each other instead
TheDraeStar 1 year ago

TheDraeStar 1 year ago
@TheDraeStar i will try to find info for you and post it on your channel. When you are asatru, go to the website og eldaring...this is a good group of asatru people.....i go now and find an answer to your question.

Hope this helps.

Good to see the US flag being burnt on Turtle Island. The US and Canadian Flag does not belong here.
MrIndianSupporter 1 year ago 2
As John said, the american flag being flown upside down is a distress call.. burning the flag is all you can do if it has been desecrated. The government/ruling class in america should be ashamed of the desecration they have put upon its red, white and blue. They should, but they have no shame or sense of humanity.
They stole the eagle, the stars .. even the flag is based upon NDN symbols. Like the declaration, taken from the Haudenosaunee peoples Great Law of Peace. Thieves the lot of em.
walkingbear56 1 year ago

:/ does that make me unAmerican, or Pro-Native American?
ibkristykat 1 year ago
I've been watching Chris Eyres series here in France about the first settlers. The interaction of the Wampanoag and the Pilgrims in colonial Massachusetts.
The settlers were given all in friendship, and slowly saw the land being taken away from them. Settlers like weeds taking land, and assimilating the natives in the name of christianity.
It is probably the most heinous crime ever committed on this earth. So thanksgiving, Columbus was a pirate!
walkingbear56 1 year ago
So I'm not just seeing things! Good. Because it always seemed in some "back burner stories people don't always hear" that people were used as slaves, and young ladies taken in as wives - actually just raped; and of course the hypocrisy with "leave your weapons at the door... but i don't have to - nor do I when I visit you" just rubbed me wrong too. And the forcing of accepting "God & Christianity" as well.
Ugh. Sorry lol

ibkristykat 1 year ago
Glad you found it... Oh I think we don't know even the half of it.
I cannot understand how one human being can do something so brutal to another human being. We have a lot to learn still about living on this planet together... not much time left to learn it neither!
walkingbear56 1 year ago
I do not call them settlers I call them occupying forces. Which is realistic because they did occupy land that did not belong to them, this is indigenous American peoples land. Get this straight and let every foreigner know this. As long as aboriginals do not have equal opportunities on their own land then the guild of stealing land rest on all foreigners who are against the aboriginals. I am with the aboriginals.
