With Iraq, what Bush did is wrap the intelligence around the policy. Plain and simple. His words to Rumsfeld were "We need to figure a way to pull Iraq into this" (911) and "What war strategies do you have for Iraq"

Bush was going to war with Iraq before 911. Iraq was on his agenda when he got in office. 911 was the excuse. Bush got people to tell him what he wanted to hear regarding Iraq then used that. TERRIBLE leadership.

How did he lie? Hilary was pushing for the war. She even agreed there were WMD in Iraq. In fact there was evidence of it, but they were wrong. This wasn't a war of lies, it was a war on miscalculation. It was handled all wrong by not just the president, but all of congress. President Bush indeed declared war, but do you realize how much shit you have to do in order to go to war? The president can't just decided hey let's go to war. It has to be passed by congress. So it's not just HIS war.

Just because Obama wasn't in Congress doesn't mean he wasn't against it from the beginning. He was against the war, he just couldn't vote that way yet.

And thank God for Obama being up front with the fact that he's taking his time in making his votes, and not just hopping on bandwagons to please constituents. Bravo for keeping your head on straight and for taking each vote seriously. That's what I got out of his statement. Obama tends to make a lot of sense on most topics.
