im reading these comments...smh.. this mix was done BEFORE all of the make beleive djs that are out now... there was no sync button or beat matching software..what you call a loop was done in the studio with a razor blade and tape.. it was called a splice..to school you young boys and girls its where the term cut comes from..to be a realdj you had have a good set of technics turntables and plenty of records..not to mention lots of power and some serious bass bottoms... 3 vans for gear alone :)
I have a weird remix for this song from the "wicked mix" library (where they add a 16 bar intro and outro beat. It doesnt open with the classic "Its Time" but it has the "Just Feel it" Robot sample in it along with repeating "Naafysh" robot sample too. I guess what i'm asking is, is there another remix to this song that features "Just feel it"? or did that sample come from another song when wicked mix did their thing to it? If i still have it I'll upload it so you can have a listen.
@TheWaynelds What did you mean by "wicked mix?" Is it like a dj tools loops record? I've been listening to recordings of my old mixes (I don't have the records anymore), & I have this version of Naafyish with a strong Apache type breakbeat. I'm wondering if that came from a dj tools recoed or if maybe I played a breakbeat track over Naafyish.
@alexeykh Wicked Mix is like one of those services that make vinyl records where you get 6 different songs on 1 record and they add a 16 bar beat at the intro, halfway thought the song and at the end of the song. theyre usually the radio edit versions too. I bought a lot Oldschool Funk/electro on the wicked Mix records because its easier to mix that way because their intro/outro beats were done on a sampler/drum machine and are perfectly in time rather than the off beat timing of a live drummer.
@TheWaynelds Understood. I found the tune on yt I was thinking of. It's not listed as a remix (although it has tons of Naafiysh in it). The actual title is Bass'ed On This - Bass of the Soul.
Remember this from the electric ballroom in camden, back in 80's.drove 6 of us up in my cortina mk2. the only white guys there and we had a fookin ball. No trouble, proper friendly , proper people.

I float out, go into a slow arm and body wave, a couple hard body hits, trace around my head, down to heart thump, pause, then vibrate whole body across floor, then point and call out the next b-boy... whew, that was the shiznit!

WoW..This is taking me back to the Leon Franklin Light and Dance Show in Quitman, MS ! Wow...those were the good old days! At 41, I still can cut up and teach my baby about how we use to do it!
I always reckoned that House Calls by the World Class Wreckin Crew 'borrowed' a small portion of this tune (you hear it during some of the answer machine recordings).
Damn ! I had like ten copies some had holes for my fingers , some white out marks , some were just too worn out even those were good for some cuts , ja ja ja ja just feel it !! brings back memories of Brandies , Florintine Gardens , and every damn backyard party in SFS and SGV
I could remember back in the days when BattleStar Galactica came out back in the early 80's and when you hear the Cylon Speak you would never know that every record that came out back then sound like a Cylon and that was some creepy sh**t but is was the bomb as well.
