Just before one minute, he said POISONOUS snake. This is just a pet peeve of mine, but these snakes are completely edible. Poisonous, they are not. ;)
I will say this again, not only is it harmful to the snake by subjecting it to undo stress and possible infection from miliking, and possible keeping it from feeding, but there are only a handful of accredited labs where venom is supplied and those snake are under special care.but there is no reason to handle this or any other venomnous snake, unless you abosolutly have too.this was pointless and stupid.
@huynh12312 well you need a horse and you keep injecting small amounts of venom into it until it builds up an immunity. Eventually you can use something from the horse as antivenom. Not sure what part though
How dangerous is the snake after you have milked it? I would assume that that what it releases is not all that it has produced at that time so there would be some danger. On a related note, if you surgically remove the venom production, I guess it would be impossible to know what they know, but do you think the snake would realize it was not venomous?
you collected the venom in a wine glass??? now what the hell are you going to do with it? stressed the poor thing out.......snakes are venomous...not poisonous...
5*s and favs, I am giving all your vids 5*s. I find it absolutely amazing that you can handle these dangerous snakes. How ever did you learn to do this and have you ever been bitten by a venomous snake? Your videos are going to save my life, i hope. I have nothing but snakes on my property. There is a creek/canal in back, close to the house, nothing but a jungle for a yard. I want to move but can't sell without giving it all away. Thanx
so let me ask you,is it absolutly necicary to extract venom from this snake? are you involved in venom production for medical research?why put yourself at risk and stress the snake when you dont need to?All the venomous snakes we are breeding never get handled for any reason other than vet care, done by me,a trained vet tech with 18 years of venomous handling.not mention, putting the "wild animal" at risk for infection. Also Adamanteus stress very easy,it might not eat after that
VENOMOUS SNAKE! NOT POISONOUS SNAKE! OMG! POISONOUS AND VENOMOUS ARE TOTALLY DIFFERENT! Poison is absorbed or ingested, where venom must be INJECTED! SAYING "This snake here, carries the most venom of any poisonous snake" IS STUPID!
I whole heartadly agree,I also posted on the wisdom of milking that snake for no real purpose. This is another example of reptile showmanship that is both iresponsible and dangerous to both the handler, and the snake, especialy a "wild caught" snake if that in fact is,either way,it should have never been done, this guy is obviously not a pro.
Now why are you gonna just go ahead and milk a wild snake like that? Like people haven't seen rattlesnakes being milked before. Now the snake might miss its next meal.
Noooo he actually said "poisonous"... =( And I thought this guy was so good. Damn... Knowing so much about these snakes and still says "poisonous" makes me mad lol.
And I think he was just a bit to careless when releasing it like that just a feet from him. The snake could easily turn around and bite him at that point.
But hey, the guy is cool. And he knows what he's doing so.
As scientist i find it stunning and irresponsible that you say the hemotoxic venom kills people. That is not what statistics say and you know it!!! Most rattlesanke bites do not kill people. Period.....it makes your whole presentation questionable.
Thats what he said in a preivious video on here. He said in this video that it COULD kill people. Not WILL kill people. There is always a chance that something may happen. And if you watched his previous video where he said that a snake controlls the amount of venom that it gives when it bites, you would have heard him say also that it may not kill a person. Personally, I find his presentation very interesting and informative.
What the hell are you talking about? Your saying If I allow a full grown Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake to bit you on the face, you will not die? Your are a disgrace. You have no idea what you are talking about. This guy has been on tv before.
WTF? Discrace? To answer your asshole question-probably not-People don't generally die by rattlesnake bite. Period. I don't care if the guy has been on the moon-fuck your TV. I am right your wrong. Your an idiot if you judge the merit of people's knowlege by their TV face time. He shouldn't have said what he said. KILL YOUR TV!
Yeah now I can definatly tell your wrong and imature. If you do not get antivenom, you have a real good possibility you can die. Why dont you learn more about what your talking about before you go acting like a know it all.
Many of you TV watchers should find out about what has happened to the population of eastern Diamondbacks in Florida. It's sick because there used to be alot but they have been slowly killed by humans-generally because they think it COULD kill them.
I would also like to say to the person who claims it was a case of WOULD vs COULD; any body who has been out looking for snakes at one time or another in their life probably agrees with what i said. Look, I am not arguing a stupid fact here.
What I was trying to say is negative "Television-type" of sensationalism leads to even more people being afraid of snakes. We don't need that, because people kill snakes. Especially TV watching crackers.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
dear Herpies,
I don't know it all. people don't get bit on the face dum ass. So lets talk reality. people don't generally die from snake bites if you don't know that you need to check the facts....just cjeck the facts before you post again. Just check the facts and it's not going to be found on a TV anywhere.
Thats true, people dont usually die from a hemotoxic snake bite, but hemotoxic venom can, in fact, kill someone. and if you dont think people get bit on the face, watch the video Milking Deadly Snakes in DeLand, this guy got bite on the face by an EDB not too long ago actually
Im planning on finding one of these next spring. I've only found Timbers, this species would be an amazing snake to see.

I could maybe pick up a snake but always have a fear putting them down, like i think as soon as i release it, the snake would shoot back and bite.

As a "Scientist" you think you would know more about what your talking about,
We have Anti-Venoms now making statistics moot for the fact that of most people who get bitten receive it.
As a "Scientist" you should have a healthy respect for the dentramental effects of a hemotoxin in the human physiology.
Your whole comment makes your claim as a "Scientist" questionable.

Did that guy get any anti-venomous injection before going out for catching that snake? I am scare of to get close to that deadly creature.
Hail08 4 years ago
You're supposed to be scared to get too close. That's the purpose of the snake, to make you scared! He's scared of you, too.
And there aren't any pre-antivenom injections for these snakes, antivenom is only used after...
