  • lol Irina SLUTsky

  • We love that this video showcases your various talents and skills with wood. Your gift of combining that with electric and acoustic knowledge to create something new is exciting. We loved seeing it!!! Barb and Bob

  • i don't get why anyone would want to talk like that

  • aai am ready for some action any guys want to take the challenge?

  • Those look really cool.

  • I'm all for customizing guitars and doing crazy stuff with em' but this takes it too far.

  • When the lights are out and your standing on stage with this guitar it will be anything but ugly.

  • Yngwie is that you?

  • Yes, yes it is.

  • Yngwie! I havent seen you since the north korean tour back in '03. I hope your ass healed ok.

  • Yea, its still got some scars but im putting some anal cream on them in hope that they will heal. I've been doing it for five years but i know tomorrow ill see some improvement.

  • LMAO. Dude, I told you to use the strat but OH NOOOOO, you had to be a bigshot and use the Flying V instead, Ive never seen skin stretch like that in my life. Anyway, Give my best to Dieter and make sure you change the gauze pads every few days.

  • "Adler wood". LOL EPIC FAIL. It's ALDER.

  • transposing two letters is EPIC??

  • Of course it's epic fail, the guy claims to be a luthier but he doesn't know the name of the wood he says he uses. What would you think if your mechanic told you something was wrong with the "pitsons" in your engine ?

  • Dude, nice explanation and yes you are right, it was an epic fail. I laughed when he called it adler as well but in reality, a luthier has gotta be smarter than that.

  • Maybe he just twisted up his words. Happens to everybody. Or maybe he was just listening to some Lamb of God.

  • He touts it as a future guitar yet he stole the body from the fender telecaster. Not exactly revolutionary.

  • It´s an interesting concept, I just don´t like the body of the guitar that guy is using for the vid. But it could be pretty cool.

  • I know Ben. I used to take my guitars to him at Mr. Music in Allston, MA (Boston).

He is the nicest guy you will ever meet and a great luthier. He has done work on my acoustic and electric guitars, pedalboard and my dobro. the dobro was a pain in the neck but he did an unbelievable job and i never had to deal with it again!

I dig the TV guitar, ONE DAY I WILL HAVE ONE!

    Go Ben!

  • "Guitars haven't really changed in the last 50 years..." Yeah, and there's a good reason why it is so - don't fix it if it's not broken... wait, oh no... you broke it. These guitars are not only ugly but enhanced with useless cr*p as well! LEDs in the freatboard are actually useful (for learning), but this LCD is just... dumb. What's next, a built-in dvd player and camera?

  • If this is the future im sad

  • why am i not surprised porcupine tree is one of the first to pick up on something this stupid

  • wow, those have the be the ugliest guitars I've ever seen. dont think they will catch on unless glam rock get popular again

  • I think the idea with the visuel effects can be cool

cuz there are many customized guitars

it would just be a cool effect

maybe if the effects would matsh what note and tone your palying

  • ill stick with my strat

  • Damn that's and ugly ass guitar and a fucking stupid host :D, A guitar is an instrument not a tv, they havem't changed much for a reason,

  • I would use it. As long as it got a good sound.

  • but would it have "god sound", residentlucashunter? something tells me all the conflicting materials necessary to the instillation of a TV sized LCD monitor would seriously fuck over tonal quality.

  • /slap

  • This is so, so stupid. Guitar sounds like crap.

  • the screen is cool but the guitar looks and probably sounds like shit

  • They say its the future but it lux rllyy downgraded. The wood is jus covered with a sheet of aluminum? & da vids he had reminded me of lava lamps & like wat? the 70's.lol I think it's kinda cool & has a cool concept but it like ruins the point of musik. You might as well be watchin ya tv or sumthn & call it an instrumentt. lol

  • I wanna know what he was trying to do at the start of the video?

  • no clue, but if that was him playing.....my god!

  • So does this mean he could show a porno flick and paste the pick to his dick?

I'll stick with my telecaster that he copied or a Les Paul - this thing sounds like garbage.

A dumb idea whose time will never come...

  • "do you think jimi hendrix wouldve liked something like this?" thats the extent of guitarists she knows.

    also, this idea sucks

  • If a friend of mine called me over to his house to check out his new guitar and I saw one of these things, I'd probably slap him.

  • I prefer the whole body to be the screen. that would be cooler

  • zdfgbzdfgsdrgsdrg

  • May look good on videos, otherwise it sucks big time.

  • Heheheheheh Slutsky

  • did he died?

  • Comment removed

  • Some poser band will use these on stage but I don't think you'd see anyone who cares about music with one.

  • Steven Wilson >>> any "poser band"

  • Leave Guitars alone they are fine the way are.

I bet you that TV guitar sounds like shit.

  • The first thing I thought of too man.

There's a REASON they haven't changed much in the last 50 years.

  • First of all i think that the colorful screen really doesnt help with the string picking, and secondly could you ever immagine for example slayer or motorhead to play on theese toys ??? and lol where are the pcik ups omfg ?

  • not cool man.,

    this is way to lame.,

  • this thing looks like a piece of crap the design is ugly as hell

  • dude people dont take acid anymore your like 50 years to late. guitar of the futre my ass !!!!!!!!!

  • Invece di costruire simili cazzate impara a suonare!!! Fanculo...

  • Steven who ??

  • Do you only listen to the radio and music made prior to the 1980s?

  • WTF???

  • Impara a suonare la chitarra! Smetti di costruire cazzate come questa, ma di cosa c'è bisogno, di un imbecille con uno schermo video nella chitarra o di qualcuno che suona? Fanculo!!!!

  • I love anything with technology in it... But this thing is a failure. Are they TRYING to kill rock and roll???

  • They should call it the teletar. Lmfao!

  • Comment removed

  • thats an ass ugly guitar with a tv in it... it probably sounds like shit too

  • uuuumm.. am i the only one thats going to say it....Why would you need a tv on your guitar...?

  • Porcupine Tree is one of my fav. bands.

  • I wouldn't have seen Steven buying or using one of these.

  • Lame...

  • that looks like a piece of scrap metal..whatever happen to the rock songs that we used to hear

  • Go Sox!

  • what does the freakin thing sound like? lol

  • i'd say it sounds like 'porcupine heads' guitarist?

  • :S i dont like it....

  • LOL the guy in the backround at 4:05

  • i love how it zooms in on the guitar, but always keeps her boobs in the camera frame...

  • They should use like an OLED for this and have the whole entire face to be a display. Also it should have visuals that are based upon the music being played

  • kinda useless, but cool nontheless

  • no, plastic instruments with 5 buttons are the future of music!

  • the interviewer is annoying, she just keeps smiling and nodding and shoving the mic in his face...

but other then that, it looks sorta cool, but i think the way it sounds is whats really important. to hell with looks.

  • Lmfao ahah

  • Irina SLUTsky bahahaha

  • Wouldn't have wanted to be her in high school...

  • LOL... she just looks so stupid!

  • Comment removed

  • I'm sure it affectes the quality of sound, that wasn't a good idea

  • Cool... but has anyone told him that a guitar is made to be heard ? What's the sound of this f**** guitar ?! I have a nice broom with a shiny metal handle but I don't use it to play music even if it's cool under the lights... maybe I should ! Brooms are the future of live music for sure !

  • All these are really cool but is there any real practical purpose????

    for god's sake loll.........

  • no thanks. i'll keep my dime razorback

  • Agreed, i'd take my Explorer over this any day

    Hands down

  • Talk about taking a next step for the progressive genre.

    I wants one.

  • I could definitely see one of these in a Daft punk video or some sort performance/art rock show, Pink Floyd for instance, but apart from that; naw

  • Roger McGuinn of the Byrds had a Rickenbacker 12 (c.1967) that lit up when the strings were struck.

He didn't use it long~ tone problems.

    /instrument shouldn't outshine the playing...

  • es una reverenda cagada me cago en los microchips...aguante hendrix carajo

  • thanks but i pass!!

  • Oh this is just terrible thats gonna affect the tone possibly in a bad way guitars should be made of wood. guitars are made to sound good not just for looks.

  • .... ill keep my rare one of a cuind orpheus

  • the one with L.E.D.s on the neck would be the future of being taught how to play guitar. The L.E.D.s would light up under the strings and you try to play it. That would be wicked.

  • i like the last part when the dude goes crazy at the back. :p

  • i bet their gonna be expensive as hell

  • this is a stupid idea

  • thats dumb. ill keep my gibson.

  • seems like quite a good idea for any bands that may play more dancey stuff with guitar such as pendulum but somehow i can't see metallica rolling out with a bunch of these things hanging from their necks lol

i think they prefer their lights to be coming from flames rather than their instruments

  • that sucks, some lights in the guitar would be very nice, but a video?dont joke me

  • adler wood? or alder.....

  • I'll stick to my strat

  • Old school guitars will never DIE!!! Screw this video shit... just give me a 1969 Fender strat or a nice Les paul. Not this Bullcrap.

  • I love playing my classic guitar. I'm not sure if this idea with follow through.

  • talking to fartacus.

  • shit

  • Esas guitarras son basura, no se pueden comparar con una guitarra natural, solamente sirven para dar espectaculos de colores.. El imbecil ni siquiera sabe tocar, es un perdedor fashion

  • I actually like it. Might become something awsome in 10 years. Or it could totally fail. who knows.

  • ROFL!!!!

  • They could stream a video of him playing the guitar through the guitar that he's playing. That would be a mindfuck.

  • yeaaaa!!

  • you made my day

  • Slut sky!

  • it probably sucks. it's got no pickups!

  • Read the description.

  • srsly "slutsky"?

  • people stop complainning. its very original and creative, i bet none of u would have thought of it so just give the guy sum props cuz its pretty sweet.

  • thats a nice effect. why you say its gay and bad. a gibson or something with a full screen of that. changing colors would be really awesome

  • lmao SLUTSKY!!!!

  • This in itself is a very week business concept... good luck finding investors I'd say. You gotta deliver a good, original guitar besides those visual things.

  • Comment removed

  • thats awesome then people will have something to watch during the live concert

  • they watch the people playing... retard, they wudn't want to watch a screan on it

  • have something to watch? what apart from the actual concert ? thats what you go for

  • can i put a x-box on it and my friends can play well u try to play guitar lmoa

  • How about i just get a great sounding classic electric guitar, and have a great stage presence.

  • awsome guitar

  • .... this goes to prove that non-musicians made this interview - the future of guitars are: well improvement of current guitars! Want better pick-ups etc.

It's useless if it's shit beside the video - a fun idea but it's not the prettiest one :P

  • Sweet

  • lol irina slutsky

  • hahaha i said the same must be a bitch having a name like that

  • Be nice you Jackasses!

  • Comment removed

  • she is... a freak

  • Brilliant Idea The memory stick plays a move inside the Guitars.

How about the memory stick play the Music and you just do the motions like your playing it.

That way you can have taintless people who are visually appealing robots be Rock Stars.

And no play pack equipment trip over.

What am I thinking Nobody would do that.

  • reason they didnt play it is because it doesnt even look like theres a pickup on it...

  • the guy plays it in the video if u watch the whole thing. all the music in the video is from the guitar :)

  • LOL that girls name is Irina Slutsky lmao

  • i'm selling these guitars for $100

any questions just call me 573-541-3713

  • I love how they missed out the most important thing, how it sounds!

  • its a normal gituare

they only put the lcd screen in it

  • thats kool.

  • If you wanna make instruments for the future, you guys better get rid of the MIDI stuff... Use OSC or something new. But MIDI is getting old seriously.

  • It's such an UGLY guitar! If you built a body for it that is actually shaped like a guitar, and had the entire guitar (or even just the entire front of the guitar) light up with the crazy video stuff, it would be awesome.

At the moment though, you've got a long way to go.

  • i'll bet this is the dumbest idea ever.

who cares for more TV type items?

  • Well anything to get kids into actually playing an instrument again rather than thinking they know how to play by doing Guitar Hero is good

  • i bet the guitarist in MUSE wants one!

  • lol that's pretty cool

  • Comment removed

  • LOL... Totally agree!!

You noticed they never played the damn thing so we don't even know how it sounds.

  • ya no i ddnt get the point of this dumb video either

  • damn, i thought that guitars were made to play music...

  • is that rude?

  • I would love to have one of your Custom Video Guitars.

    VERY HOT! (blue/purple)

    Michael

  • Thats not a guitar :'C

  • the fucking state of that guitar

  • what a fuckin crock of shit.....

its a guitar with a build in tv....

whats the point,if something isnt broke dont fix it

  • "Which comes first, the music or the video?"

Dumbest question ever. Music always comes first of course. I don't think a video for a song matters at all.

  • Yeah, most of the time the video ruins the song for me anyways.

  • Woah this is a disgrace, and absolutely pathetic. Why would anyone give up their guitar to get one of these machines that operate with a usb stick for god's sake? This is described best with just one word: GARBAGE.

  • i don't believe this shit,if ppl buy that, they're morons!Nothing is better than old fashioned Stratocaster,Les Paul, even vintage Kramer,Jackson, and such as...As a true fan of guitars and player on upon rising,i say that this shit,sux...Peace out

  • haha slutsky rofl

  • if steve wilson plays them live they cant sound too bad...

  • The shape being an oval in the front of the guitar looks very weird, it looks like a teletubbie.

A better design would be to make the screen the whole front and not just that circle.

But I dont even want to imagine the sound of that guitar.

  • not really, i mean... not really.

  • while playing live the sound of the guitar itself is not so important, it's not like rock concerts are some hi-fi listening sessions. So I don't think it matters if the guitar sounds a little crappier if it has a tv in it. The show is more important.

  • that could make a new aspect to guitar hero but it would make it real.

  • Tool would like these =]]

  • sucks

  • At the end of the day guitarist play particular guitars for the sound not what it looks like, by cutting a large chunk out of the body you will be altering the sound to some extent or another, and if it sounds like crap then no ones going to want to play it.

  • I undertand people saying that the visualizations rnt necessary and they would rather a normal guitar. But then again, its a good idea, when u perform music, it is a 'show', not just a musical appreciation session. If u think about alot of past bands, alot hve got famous off visuals rather than sound. If u look good live then u can survive in the industry

  • one word, rammstein. check a live from them even if you dont care about the music. No visual gimmicks, but very visual SHOW - and they're not going anywhere

  • If you sound shit then you won't even get your foot in the door.

Thats why bands submit demos not dvds to A&R people
