  • WHY IS IT ON A SKINNY METAL POLE?.

  • Keep pressing 2 and 7, as fast as you can, for spazzy whelen.

  • I would be screaming and running to the basement if I saw a storm in the distance and herd these sirens!!! lol, thank god I live in an city where tornados don't happen.

  • sounds like an EOWS 612

  • lol sorta sounds like a 612

  • Yep. thats Aurora im right down the street from that 1!!

  • It's Wailin' Whelen!! That thing I heard in Sam's Club by the cafe when I was working when they set it off a month or so ago.

  • have you ever captured this one in the steady Alert tone??

  • @timeslip325 They do not test in alert. They only use Wail and Whoop only.

  • @rockbrcavs Thanks.

  • @rockbrcavs so what would be alert mode? this?

  • @Thunderbolt1000T they should be using wail for tornado warnings. it gets ur attention better. but ur right, alert is for tornadoes and also hi-lo is used for flash floods. and from what i understand they have two more tones. one for civil defense and one for hazardous chemicals, (no clue what thery are.)

  • @rockman399 at least that's the idea in tulsa, but it still depends on municipality to decide which tones will best get attention of civilians for which emergencies.

  • Oh that's by the Best Buy!! I know where that is!! I always wondered what that siren sounded like! Thanks dude!!

  • It sounds much like Watertown's old EOWS 612s.

  • the next test should be in May

  • It does sound like a Thunderbolt when pointed at the camera.

  • Is it just me or did anyone else notice the bird that suddenly falls dead off of the square-shaped light to the left of the siren at 0:10? Methinks someone nearby is a good shot with a pellet gun lol

  • And you hear a slight "pop" like a pellet gun too, lol

  • Yep that's what I was thinking I heard too lol. I was thinking either that or something in that light shorted out and arced to that one spot he was on, which caused the pop. Who knows, it was still funny none the less!

  • i thought i heard it scream too

  • Poor bird

  • oh yeah i agree with you murrfarms i seen it fall too

  • i saw it too

  • Unfortunately Aurora only uses wail and whoop tones.

  • @rockbrcavs wail and whoop are the best tones for a whelen.

  • awesome vid! ive seen this siren in person the same day I saw the 1003 on Yosemite and Hampden.

  • Is this the siren at Mississippi and I-225, buy best buy. I have been away from aurora for about 2 years now and I was wondering when they stopped using voice, the female voice was so badass.

  • It is the one by Best Buy. I did not know they even used the voice at one time.

  • @rockbrcavs They stopped using it about five years ago. I have no idea why but I agree with Jaegermeister80104.. the female voice was badass. :)

  • @christine162008 yeah having a female voice being broad casted throughout the city sounds so much more awesome the the boring old male voice that everyone else's uses, except for down in Florida they use the female voice set.

  • Great sounding 3016 in Wail! :D

  • Alright another Dual Tone 3016 in Wail tone! Excellent!
