There's something weird in this music: a night in a park, a haunted manor... and it's very REAL - in these half-tones, diminuendo's and sudden codas. I simply LOVE that waltz

I'm not a particular fan of waltzes, but some renditions are magnificent. Here an American hot dance band of the very middle of the Charleston Era plays this soft, haunting waltz with such charme and tenderness... it's for me somewhat perverse combination: belle epoque refinement of the waltz rhythm and the merciless and hot jazz oirchestra with its tubas, banjos and saxophones... It's like Godzilla made dance with a tiny Cinderella
