could you make a video on how you mount the pipe on your roof. ive never mounted anything but a satelite antenna. also kits would be nice. i will definatly be getting one of these this year.
So Jeff, the PMA is cogging free, becuase of low wind startup and I think that that design is a Lens design which is so cool looking. I can just watch it all day long, LOL. Thanks for the post-Billy
Jeff, is the PMA on this VAWT a high volts/amps PMA or what do you recomend to be a good match with this VAWT. And would cogging be a problem with a change driven, if you used a higher wattage PMA? Thanks for the vid and the design looks really a good one. Billy
@599891 Not quite a fair comparison. VAWTs are designed to run at a much slower rpm than a traditional wind turbine. They produce a useable amount of power by gear ratios which turn the alternator at a much higher rpm than the turbine is spinning.
Congrats on the new addition to your product line, Jeff !! It looks first class! Really great to see you finding new ways to catch the wind... Best wishes for the New Year!
Hey Jeff. Another great vid, and welcome to the VAWT world. Lower TSR with these, but you can pretty much get them going with a hard look.Keep up the great work!
It's about time Jeff!!!! Good work, what's the price range you're looking for, wattage of the unit, are you selling the poles and guy-wires etc or just the unit? Got a link yet? I want one or three!!!
complimenti ! awesome design! The dropshape propellors captating the wind inside simple and compact non cumbersome like the "sunflower types" It doesn't even turns too fast making it safer, really nice!
That's a Lenz 2, right?

How much does a system like this cost? What is the avg. wind speed needed?

Do you use the same pma on your vawt? like the ones on your hawt
POMPAYPEE 7 months ago
which one is more efficient? Wavt or other one next to it?
samedsoft 8 months ago
@samedsoft Hawts put out more power because they can reach high rpms where where as vawts run much slower and cost more.

can you change the gearing so it would produce higher rpm's for low wind speed needs?
JWnFL 1 year ago
@JWnFL I guess you could. Bob found this gearing to work best.

@solomonkane23 It does not use a pipe for the roof mount, we have a set of easy bolt down brackets that fit any pitch roof even flat roofs.

@TheBillythekid2010
yes it's a special pma made for this vawt. high amp and volts.
A chain works just fine for a vawt, just noisey. Ours is a belt with teeth.

It looks like the turbine in the background is kicking it's butt. Fair compairison???
