  • I started laughing at his collar. Every IT guy (including my self) have curled collars on our Polo shirts (hard not to). I'm contantly fixing it because it looks so sloppy. But it's hard when you crawl under desks and dig into raised flooring. You know a manager (someone that usual doesn't know anything about technology in general - fakers) by their clean sharp collars, lol.

  • I have a physics EE background no related experience - any tips on getting entry into network security?

  • @SxbYT Start getting certified or work on a BA in Com Sci. Make sure if you start getting certified to start with the low level stuff, no one wants someone that just memorized some questions for a test. Know how to do anything on a PC, let alone a server, and all related software. In interviews you will be asked a lot of simple IT questions unrelated security just so they can tell if you are a tech or a book. Also, break stuff, then figure out how to fix it. Have fun.

  • cool presentation Id like to have a website like about sec , I was getting a certificater about that I guess its all by levels right? u begin with something named CNNA or CNAA network I cant remember it

  • @Gh0StSecurity Cisco has some pages on their website that tell all about their various different certs like CCNA, CCNP, etc. CompTIA offers vendor neutral certs.

  • @MrNaryal @MrNaryal - This is from Wikipedia. Information security means protecting information and information systems from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification or destruction.

The terms information security, computer security and information assurance are frequently incorrectly used interchangeably. These fields are interrelated often and share the common goals of protecting the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information.
