James Hetfield plays guitar totally different than others. When I saw that 10years ago when I was young kid I wanted to play like Him, life is changing but I play like I play, If somebody wants to play like Hetfield should see that the real power is in the details and see my video link in the end or just click on my profil :) If everyone FAN tried to play like Hetfield this would be a big gift to the METALLICA for their music and changing people(MY!!!) life :) /watch?v=V-E_U7ybp9c
i bet if he had told you he was playing through a tube amp, you would all be asking how he gets that tone. anyways, nice tone and awesome playing, dont know why theres so many goddamn haters commenting on this video
@Shyuum You may want to test your ears. Digitech pedals sound flat. TRy playing a single not and you'll notice the lack of break up. It stays flat then cuts out rather then acting like an amp which will slightly change pitch as the string sustain fades. the POD manages to achieve that to an extent although not completely accurate to a real tube amp
in this case. it definitely made a difference. at least for the creeping death riffs and from what i seen of blackened, check ur tabs, but other than that not bad
dude blackened is all downpicking as is puppets...also the descending intro riff in puppets starts at the 12th fret and works its way down...its all on the low e string
The PODxt tones can sound very convincing but they still lack the 3 sounding dimensional quality of tube amps and at the end, the guitar doesnt even sound like a guitar anymore
what is best amp for plugging this into? or what are other options? do people just run through computer with higher quality monitor/speakers? sorry obviously dont have a clue.
monitor speakers or good quality headphones give very good results.
If you play through an amp, you must ensure that it's plugged in such a way that the sound is direct to HP instead of being a mix of pod tone + amp tone.
The best setting is probably to plug it into some monitoring spkrs but between the speaker and the amp, you add one or two tubepedal that do not affect the tone (I don't remember the name of the usefull model) but is giving it the "tube amp" nice tone.
When they recorded they used hardly any distortion to get more clarity and pick attack. The avg distortion setting was 6! They got that thick sound from layering and using (not this shitty pod crap) mesa boogie tube amps, Mark II C+, tri-axis and Mark IV's. Hardly any distortion. Flemmin Rasmussen recorded their stuff and posted all the settings and gear they used on his blog.
dude theyr not only for people who cant afford good amps. have you ever heard of misha mansoor? hes got tons of gear that you couldnt imagine, and his favorite amp is the engl invader. even though he has tons of amazing gear, he records with his pod for the convenience and versatily. its got proffessional sound dude.
having gain at 6 isnt "not enough distortion", depending on the amp. metallica had good tone and it still would've been good even with a tad less distortion
Yes I can explain,For instance, You can get slash to come and play on your rig ask him to play eddy's songs, and then you will see that 90% of tone is in the players fingertips. The fingertips are your very own signature guitar tone. also no 1 can tell you what A good tone is, since its music then tone is in the ear that hears it. I myself have found A very good tone in my opinion using A fender big apple strat, and two fen.deville all tube60 wattamps with podxt running in stereo bypassing preamp
I have a question PLEASE SOMEONE ANSWER ME IM DESPERATE
When recording with a Pod XT, do you need some kind of program before you can get any sound out of it, and if yes,d what program do you need? PLZ answer me
NO,you can just plug it in and wail away, it has A preamp. but to play outloud you must have A power amp and speakers, as you probably already know. A new pod came out thats even better, but still on the high side of 500.00. It really is the way to go if you can't afford to buy all the really high tech gear like the fortunate have.
just A word to all you guitar freaks out there, You get 90% of your tone in your fingertips. The pod is great for gigging clubs and garage stuff. The hardest part is to really take the time and get to know your pod and how to dial it in correct which really is very easy compare to most others and it sounds great. But if you want the very best tone go to your type of music concert and watch what the pros play on that have no money limitations and that is the very best tone you can get.
what song is it I want to learn it on my king V jackson and very impressive dude you have a Gift. can I have free tickets to your concert?(do you have a band?)
Yeah, and this intro is only played TRV if you play it all down (playing it alternate just makes it an easy riff, playing it down really needs skill).
wow...lotta assholes coming out of the woodwork. I liked the demo, you've got great tone, and the playing isn't half bad. never ceases to amaze me how a vid like this manages to offend some peole (jealous maybe?)
