I come from place near to where the beatles grew up. Can remember them when they started out.

The amazing thing was that people of all ages loved their songs - which are timeless - this one is by Paul McCartney - others by John Lennon.

I'm thinkin he meant why as in what happened cuz they didn't give a clear enuf hint as in the soldier obviously died cuz "mom" or "wife" got his dog tags. The boy was more than likely a victim in the riots that took place. It may not be that obvious to some because he's sitting behind a vehicle singing the song for us then next thing you know he's dead. Read a little into someones question before poking fun over such a moving and serious bit of film. Just my two cents.
