What a shit show, players like these don't come often at all, I'd say at least the NHL has ovi but they're incomparable (in a sense that they're both amazing in different aspects of the game). Then again, Ovechkin drives the same way he skates, like a fuckin maniac, wouldn't be surprised if his career was cut short over a car accident.

Honestly i'm a big Crosby fan (my whole family for that matter) but even I have to admit he is soft. It's been 8 months since his concussion and it's still indefinite whether or not he'll be playing next season. C'mon Sid MAN UP!!

What about Mikael Grabovski (Toronto Maple Leafs), this guy got hit by Chara twice in the same game, had a concussion and came back to score an amazing GWG, it has everything to do with being soft and honestly I think Sid is just biding his time so that people miss him and say "Geez man we might lose our star player, let's take out headshots for GOOD". Gorde Howe was once injured and when he came back he took the other guy's ear off for putting him out. That's HARD.

Researchers have also found injuries in which structural damage does occur under the rubric of concussion. A concussion involves a physiological or physical disruption in the brain's synapses. No one can alter biochemical changes in neurons at free will or repair structural damage to their brain...srsly...

It's great that Sid is coming back but Sid coming back shouldn't be the reason for banning headshots. How about the deaths we had this offseason with all the enforcers! Also if these goons are willing to go out and put superstars like Sid or anybody else into an early grave for a few bucks doesn't belong in the NHL. There needs to be a severe penalty for headshots like banning the player for the year or forever. If not severe enough then they won't stop

Sid's has had 10 concussions since second year bantam. I want him to get better and take the time to do so, but many people want him to start the season. That's a Long-shot, knowing that the season starts in less than a month. We want him healthy and back to seeing really sidney Crosby hockey, but health always comes first.

This just sounds a little too eerily like the Savard injury and his initial status/issue. I really hope it does not have the same outcome. Best of luck Sid.

@soul76can This is absolutely nothing like Savard. Savard had a completely different injury with completely different symptoms. I wish people would actually listen to what the doctors repeat over and over and over again. You cannot compare injuries like this, the only think that should be compared is how they were treated and none of those people you are talking about treated them properly.

@dgillary I was referring to his stated symptoms, Savard said his symptoms include being sleepy all the time, and explaining that things seem to move slower. Also, if you remember last year after the 2010 season where he actually played in the playoffs Savard had suffered a recurrence of post-concussion symptoms over the summer and did not participate in camp last year for the 2011 season.

The two situations sound a bit similar based on those facts is all. I hope the outcome is different!

It makes the game more exciting. The rivalry between the Penguins and Capitals wouldn't be complete without Sid AND Ovie. Whether people want to admit it or not we need them both in the leage. Only this once will I admit to all of this XD lol
