I dig all kinds of music from all eras and spaces. But I always think of this music as timeless and yet so now. How is that possible? :-) Thanks for posting this.
Can you believe this shit ?!! Ft. Worth, TX, of all places, gave us Ornette, Dewey Redman, Julius Hemphill, King Curtis, Prince Lasha, Cornell Dupree, Charles Mofatt, Ronald Shannon Jackson, James Carter, etc, all from the same high school (I.M. Terrell, now an elementary school). I bet band practice was a mofo ! Older cats would tell amazing stories around town about how their music was so ahead of the curve and far-out..........damn!
I have been looking for this for YEARS!! This CD (Of Human Feelings) never made it to CD. Criminal! Indeed, great performance. No one has ever been able to touch mid-eighties vintage Jamaaladeen Tacuma. Ornette = straight up music deity. The fact that Milton Berle is introducing them pushes the boundaries of awesome.

And the number is "Times Square." I saw this when it was originally broadcast, and it's still the best five minutes of music I've ever seen on TV. I've looked for it on youtube many times over the years and am thrilled to have finally found it. Many thanks for posting it!
