I really believe the judges thought David Archuleta was the best vocalist and talent in the season 7. On the night, Archuleta showed all he got and as usual he always delivered perfect pitch and emotional connection under the tremendous pressure. That's gift.

I marble at how each finale contestants are to prepare three songs in one week. It's tough pressure. What struck me about David Archuleta's finale performance is how he performed each song full of spirit, pure emotions coming straight from his heart.. A hallmark of a great singer, that magical moment when we can feel his heart and the spirit of the song. David was stunning finale night.

AI show has viewers. 2009 season started with 22 million, down from 30 m. Still, people like to hear /find more good singers.

Hopefully, season 9 made better changes so the finale voting can be closer to the actual voting of the public.

Allowing like 20 votes per viewer is insane.

And which line got through easier and quicker...

they need a better control and honesty in voting set up.

Simon is really Cook fan as he said in outside interview.He wanted Cook to win. Look at Simon's face. He gave the round to Archuleta for the ratings, angered Cook's fans by giving all three rounds to Archuleta. That was his strategy. Also people wanted rocker to win. Archuleta gave a stunning amazing performance in the Finale. He definitely won that night. These videos of Finale are hard to find, for their good reason.

There was a rigging involved and still continues.

How can you claim that David A. won the night, but disagree with Simon when he says the same thing?

There is room for both Davids. Different genre. Different audience. Votes would be closer without the rigging and rocker still win.

One of the best interpretation and rendition of IMAGINE ever done what an amazing talent who could ever think for a 17 years old kid can ever deliver such a song so beautifully with feeling and emotion. He resuscitated this song back to life and make people get interested again with the song IMAGINE. All I can say this boy is really gifted and you never get tired listening to him - John Lenon and David Archuleta will always be remembered with this song.

Sorry, this guy has a very nice voice, but he is a bit too bland (as somebody else remarked: the next Barry Manilow. He will do well, nonetheless, but Cook, OVERALL, was the real talent.

David Archuleta has an AMAZING vocal range and his voice is beautiful. David cook is like every other rock singer in America and will probably last a year at best. Archie is young and can do what ever he wants with his talent. Plus David Archuleta doesn't need all of the added effects to make him sound great. If you put them both against each other just with vocals David Archulea would win hands down.
