Man.. I was a kid when I first saw these guys live. This was one of my favorite songs for some reason. It's hard not to go back listening to them. I think I was just a big fan of Shot Jones.
jessy mac always looked like JB to me.when I was singing Qtet, if the music didnt kick you in the butt, the tenors woulg just smoke everybody out, especially on the slow ones. Blair used to be teased sometimes because he cut up wicked Pickett to sing gospel, but I saw him about a month before he died and he STILL held it down....and Danny too!!!
man, ,about 98, 99 or so, I think. He came to our church, talked to everbody. it was fun. from one of the guys, he passed from congested heart not liver problems. he came to our church straight from rehab. it was cool, about 1500folks at the church. Our church band played with the group. we all jammed. he sang hard and the people rushed the platform. Was my Bishops favorite group, too!!!
Maurice Morgan has played and song for some of the best gospel groups in the business. The Violinaires, Gospel Keynotes, and now The Canton Spirituals.
Thank you so much for posting this video. The Violinaires were some bad boys!"They were singing contemporary gospel before the phrase became popular.Lil Shot influenced so many tenors. From Johhny of The Dells to Al Green and Philip Bailey.

Blair died in 2002 or 2003... I want to say it was a year before or after Wille Neal Johnson(from the Keynotes) but those two werent too far apart...
