This is very prevalent in the military, junior officers that think they have nothing to learn from senior NCO's are sadly mistaken. It takes a strong officer to listen to and learn from someone that is supposed to be "Below" them...very good scene that should have made it to the show!!
@svisionguy Absolutely. A very effective scene that SHOULD have been on the actual show. I would argue it was one of the top ten or twenty footages filmed during season one.
uhm, new the to the SGU series. Does SGU happen before atlantis or after? or didnt atlantis happen?. because they never mention atlantis in the series.. ( i havent watched the all yet tho)
@showan412 it happens after atlantis, but honestly, you don't need to worry about atlantis or sg-1 to watch this show - it's very different and it has a completely seperate storyline from the other shows
sure about that? the tech is one thing, and its distinct that SG1 is a group of pioneers, SGA handle ressources far over their heads (like we with science these days), SGU is doing the same with a lame infrastructure (= greater/moredirect fear, Id say this hobbes wolve stuff)
its pretty interesting to cross link the key characters
@showan412 As mentioned below, it happens after Atlantis, and unlike the two other series, this is a DRAMA show, not ACTION, and people who didn't realize it dissed SGU for that reason without realizing the facts.
PS: I believe that at all the series, they somewhat of a based on the SG1, and the extra series branched away and are somewhat of an unconnected. I came to figure this, because they never asked Dr. Rodney Mckay from SGA to help them out, and he kinda beats all the other scientists.
Everything before this was linked to SG-1. SGU is in a brand new universe, separate from SG-1. And yes, I agree. This is a drama show, there's a lot less adventures on the planet and stuff.

I`d even go as far saying, after all the kinos, that the Leutnant might be a bit unflexible, as actor. That brute.. (ah, I dont care for names, its a problem xD) knows why he does what he does. Even in his [taken-over] state.
"that`s your doody."
practical philosopher, fighter, glory?
I love (ummm ;)) Rush. But the last line really tells that that guy has a voluntary problem. I am afraid of him. But I supppose- he does the right thing- and alone. hm.
hammes2, either you're an idiot or English isn't your first language. And if you think Jamil Walker Smith can't act then you are a terrible judge of talent.
I seriously started to hold that show, in parts, even higher than atlantis, everything else before was (I`m serious, everything =p) .. surely very very nice, but only in parts, sg atlantis was maybe isolated in -some- parts, but wholesome in what was left, as everything good is (many much about communication).
That moment where they drank and the following was..I`d even call it a bit imprinting concerning the actors. It seriously looks like they make the actual word work from the spot. Hm!
@Uhmu45 My understanding is that he has only "trained" the ones he liked, the ones he didn't like, he just didn't care about so didn't give them proper training.
I love this scene, I find it very powerful, just to see Greer's view, and the relationship the two have. I wish it could have been in the episode! Great writing/acting for this scene!
@akropiss Greer is crazy

What about this clip suggests that? This is a very level headed presentation of his view of how things work.

so a Leiutenant out ranks a Master Sergent. I thought it would be the other way around. Cause Mastger Sergeny sounds higher.

I believe it's hard to make comrades to friends if you're 24h/7d in duty, talking about lower/higher rank.
