  • south Indian women I clicked on. I wasn't going after Hindu women either, just Christians. But that's how it is. I found that the north Indian women, and especially Anglo-Indian communities are more open, but still pretty closed. The most important things are core beliefs and what makes you unique as an individual, not what your first language is. You can't complain about them being a closed community when you do the same thing.

  • I was on shaadi.com for about 5 years, and I noticed that most of the women there would say "looking for Tamils only" or "Looking for Punjabi" only. Personally, I didn't care which group my woman came from because to me what makes a woman attractive is facial features and hair. I couldn't care less about skin color.   • I think it is good and healthy to be proud of your background, or at least not ashamed of it, but at the same time you don't want to be ethnocentric. I have noticed that a lot of Indian communities have a strong tendency to stick with their own group. When Indians come to the US the Tamils hang out with Tamils, and it usually takes 1 or two generations before they even consider mixing. I am a European American who likes Indian women. I got interested in Indian women about 5 years ago.
