This is probably my favorite version of the song. Mylon LeFevre's early version. It has the best vibe. Love the background vocals. There is another version by folk singer Joan Baez with Johnny Cash, even one by the Oak Ridge boys. Yet this one is my favorite.
I got to see Mylon LeFevre at the Sunshine Festival in Wilmar,MN- they sang "Gospel Ship" and "Trains up in the Sky" along with "Stranger to Danger" He prayed for me in the prayer tent after their show.. I also met his guitarist Michael Tyrell in Wilmar- and again 23 years later @ Burnsville MN when he came to do some ministry in Minn . What a blast that was! I have always loved this song.. especially the way they did it for their Sheep in Wolves clothing" tour. Broken Heart was a great band!
It's an EARLY recording by Mylon LeFevre from like 1970 or something. It was shortly after his conversion. through the 70s and 80s he recorded the song in different versions, but this one is my favorite.
He's on the Gaither videos a lot nowadays, doing mostly old fashioned southern gospel type stuff.

Uncle Silas: My mother's oldest brother...I miss him a lot.
Clayton: My nephew, went home to be with God when we were kids, I've missed him a lot
My family is a pretty close-knit group, we look out for and take care of each other...the legacy that Grandpa Emmett left us with may or may not be understood by outsiders, but the man genuinely LOVED his family, friends, was burdened for lost souls...I want to be more like Grandpa.
where is the version with Ruby Vass? i think its an old version..
