  • I'm trying to do this with a copper wire, a AA battery (1.5v) and a ceramic disk magnet ( I think that is what its called) but it isn't working. Do you need neodymium magnets for this to work?

  • I am very happy to see the vidoe after you give this A simple motor made by an spiral wire and a magnet.

  • I Love The Video It Can Increase My Knowledge Simplest motor in the world - Spiral

  • Steady I Really Like This Video Simplest motor in the world - Spiral

  • Good, I like that you share this video A simple motor made by an spiral wire and a magnet, I wish success always

  • Nice Video A simple motor made by an spiral wire and a magnet It uses one AA battery. That You Share , So Very Nice Thanks You

  • I Really Like The Video From Your A simple motor made by an spiral wire and a magnet.

  • Your Video Is Very Useful Sharing A simple motor made by an spiral wire and a magnet

  • What Sort of Wizardry is This?

  • @1Dcarp Electromagnetic....wow

  • That's very pretty; and a nice project for kids. Can you show the parts separated?

  • where the hell do you even get neodynium magnets anyway?

  • Ahh! I want one.. Lol

  • Wow... im probably high again...

  • heheh this one the best... very nice

  • wow nice

  • Do these go forever? lol

  • woohoo!

  • paper plane here i come

  • awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wie funktioniert das alles eigentlich?

  • what kind of magnet are used?

  • @777777Hassan a neodymium magnet

  • who did you make that spiral so well? Did you buy it?

  • I find this strangely erotic.

  • dude u just done mad pepetule motchun

  • where are the simplest, this or another vid?

  • tesla is back and ready to avenge himself.

  • wow, perpetum mobile.. yap.. xD

  • Press 3 for spinning wire :O

  • whats funny is that i see more than one vid for "simplest motor"How can there be more than one simplest jk

  • @emeyer666 because the 'simplest' is the technology used (homopolar motor), not the implementation or design.

  • Won't last, short circuit.

  • @dvh065 it uses internal battery resistance, it needs all power a battery can give to work. (it's simple, not efficient)

  • its necesary to be a nedymium magent?

  • cool,cool,but will it blend?

  • How did i even get here?

  • this is homopolar motor that means you are bicurious son im dissapoint

  • OK MAI FREND THAT IS EPICLY CEWL

  • add some ferro fluid and...

  • What is the use of this motor?

  • @AshThEpSYcHo whats the point of this comment?

  • @wasthatnormal A comment always has a point, it might be stupid, or good :)

  • But, Will it blend?

  • do i need a super stronge magnet or just a simpl one?

  • i dont understand why the electric current makes the copper wire spin. Did you get it spinning yourself and it just continues to spin? or does it happen on its own?

  • @kwazmokid Think of it like a fan blowing air. The wire makes contact with both sides of the battery, thus creating a circuit. Which in turn, created an elector-magnetic field. This field repels or attracts the magnet depending on it's polarity. In this case, the wire is attracted to the magnet, creating a downward force, but because the wire is shaped like a coil, a gentle nudge in the right direction can make it spin until the battery runs out of juice. And that's my view on it.

  • But will it ble- hmm... But will it drill?

  • nice example of a magnetic force on a current carrying wire :)

  • Can you use that noter to turn a wheel for certain robots?

  • will a metal wire work?

  • @drag600 it the wire is attracted to the magnet, then no, because it would be stuck. it needs to be metal (copper) but not magnetic.

  • @danky78 Not FERROmagnetic, therefore said that EVERYTHING is magnetic, just in other ways (Most stuff is Diamagnetic)

  • @danky78 do the magnets have to be round? I tried with square ones i have but it didnt work

  • @stancrux seriously?

  • @drag600 Copper is a metal, moron.

  • @drag600 try a plastic wire and come back to us

  • that shit...its crazy

  • it is coper ?

  • where does one buy these magnets?

  • Do you have to replace the battery at anytime?

  • @tenaciousturtle24 the battery only lasts some minutes, its a simple motor, but not an efficient one :)

  • @danky78 LOL Really? I would have thought it could run like that for days. Crazy :P

  • Ooooooooohhhhhh! Pretty.......

  • new! car powered by only 1 aa batery!!!

  • make it with a clay jar and a chunk of lodestone with some juice, tin and copper, then it will really be the simplest motor. (bronze age materials)

  • @kght222 oh, should have mentioned wax to stopper the ends, truth told ear wax would work, but you can probably find beeswax with with more ease.

  • @kght222 the battery is not part of the motor, the power source is not my business :D

btw, I have another video where I power up a led with vinegar, copper and nails. and the vinegar is not needed, it can be done with water (coming soon water battery) :)

  • @danky78 sorry, should have clarified that it was a joke. although making one the way i described would still be pretty cool. and yah if the water has a bit of acidity like most tap water does, it'll work. wont be quite as high a voltage, but still functional.

  • @danky78 How would I have to modify it to use 220V power from the wall socket?

  • @TheCentralServices It wouldn't work with AC - needs DC.

  • @TheMrBlinx Someone told me....mmm, what are rectifiers for?

  • @TheCentralServices A rectifier is a diode. It passes current in one direction but blocks it in the opposite direction. They are used to make AC like what comes out of the wall (after a transformer) and turn it into DC.

  • @TheMrBlinx Isn't that what the engine needs?

  • @TheCentralServices Not from a DC battery.

  • @danky78 "the power source is not my business :D"

that's the spirit! greetings from electrician to electrician =)

  • @Tilex1990 well, im not electrician, it's only a hobby ;)

  • @kght222 baghdad battery they used those thousands of years ago haha

  • awesome! i made this in class when i was bored. btw, if you press alt+f4, internet explorer suddenly becomes faster!

  • silly people, still using internet explorer...

  • wait so is this the simplest motor or is your other video the simplest motor in the world... you are lying to me in one of these videos -__-

  • Firefox FTW!!!

  • Hurray for neodymium magnets

  • Safari FTW!!!!!!!!

  • its crazy how cool that is

  • i use safari

  • I Have IE 9 Simply Becuase I Find It Faster And Still Safer Than Google Chrome And The Fire Fox Layout Is Not Great Too Look At. I Have But Do Not Use Safari and I'm Not Good With Operas Layout. Anyway I Have IE 9 And I Watched This Vid And My Laptop Never Crashed

  • I Have IE 9 Simply Becuase I Find It Faster And Still Safer Than Google Chrome And The Fire Fox Layout Is Not Great Too Look At, I Have But Do Not Use Safari and I'm Not Good With Operas Layout. Anyway I Have IE 9 And I Watched This Vid And My Laptop Never Crashed

  • what are those 3 things at the bottom of the battery ?

  • Triiiipppppyyyyy

  • i love sceince!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I never use Internet Explorer. Chrome is much better.

  • This is obviously a glitch god needs to fix...

  • i use IE and i stilldidnt freeze. EPIC WIN!

  • any magnet or does it have to be a CERTAIN magnet?

  • @Pheonixcub Any magnet will work. The more powerful, the more dramatic the effect.

  • I want a magnet to make this ..plaese help me.....

  • nice party trick

  • thats the second "most simple moter in the world" MAKE UP YOUR MIND!!

  • does this one ever get hot?

  • Hod do vid plaesz

  • Doesn't this short circut the battery?

  • fucking art

  • the spiral wire is rotating clock-wise, what we need to understand , is that wether the electrons tend to get attracted towards positive terminal of the battery also in the spiral movement if we use a straight wire. why we use a spiral wire in a heater? instead we can use a straight wire between two terminals, anyone has the answer?

  • A new way to display...a battery.

  • oh my shit that is awesome.

  • My computer doesn't freeze because I use Linux like a baws.

  • @DemonZonkey Indeed sir, indeed.

  • This is good when u are high. Gj

  • lol, internet explorer is for noobs

  • Frickin Cool!

  • Sweet

  • cool motors

  • does it run the battery down?

  • does the battery have to be fully charged if so does it stop when the battery dies?

  • I CALL HAX

  • So, if I level out a long 1" pipe on my melon, will it spin too?

  • Why do peoples computer freeze after the video? Mine never does haha

  • @chargersfan1111 It seems to be a bug with ads in internet explorer. I disabled ads so it will not freeze anymore.

  • @danky78 Same here i have adblock in chrome

  • @danky78 because internet explorer isn't google chrome...

  • @danky78 thats what people get for using internet exploder

  • @danky78

    WTF? Internet Explorer?

  • @dadsa5 it seems the bug is only in internet explorer, I use firefox and chrome and never feezes

  • @danky78

    INTERNET EXPLORER IS BLASPHEMY

  • @danky78 my chrome froze some times..

  • true, fire fox has less bugs, get add block, stops add on your pc completely.

  • @danky78 What's internet explorer? ;-)

  • @dadsa5 Its called Google Chrome. IE9 looks like a combo of Chrome and Firefox, but its still IE :)

  • @danky78 lol at using internet explorer

  • @chargersfan1111 MInes dont fag

  • @chargersfan1111 its electromagnetic pulse!!! =0

  • @chargersfan1111 Bugs beacause it starts a playlist, and whoever's complaining has a shitty computer

  • @ShreddedStrings Haha

  • @chargersfan1111 ha i got a mac didnt stop mine

  • @chargersfan1111 Use Firefox, Faster and better in my opinion then Internet Explorer.

  • @muvo6597 No i use chrome, mine never freezes, im just asking why other peoples does

  • love it its sooooo AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this add some eletronic energy or not ?

  • I can't believe people still voluntarily use Internet explorer

  • @vinesthemonkey Hey Right now Internet Explorer with Google chrome are faster then Firefox so that's atleast something ...

  • @ElementalDarkness5 you should include the word along

But IE still sucks because of poor security

  • LOL

  • Neato

  • ITS JUST TOO COMPLICATED!!!! GAHHHH!!!!

  • this is what you call brilliance. I don't care that it doesn't get anything done. It looks kinda pretty.

  • like if your computer didnt freeze after this

  • wow this motor is so simple my computer froze after the video

  • My computer just froze after the video, but this is still very cool.

  • @yourminer1997 I don't know why that happens to some people, it seems to be a bug in internet explorer or youtube player with short videos. I can do nothing, sorry.

  • @danky78 it freezes because when the video ends an ad is trying to load causing a conflict. you will see that there is a yellow box near the end of the video. if u video was longer there would not be a problem.

  • @dalsrdotcom I see, I disabled ads for this video, I hope now problem is gone and it don't freezes anymore. Thanks :)

  • @danky78 No, its the add at the end. The CP has to load the ad the the other stuff at the end of the video. Thats what cause's it. Hope this helps!! :]

  • @BTCRAIL101FILMS Yes, dalsrdotcom pointed out that too, I disabled ads for this video so it will not freeze any computer anymore. Thanks.

  • Fun starts at 0:05

  • like this if your computer freezed after the video

  • @egotime300 I can do nothing with that, i recorded the video with a camera and youtube converted to its own format. maybe it's a bug in youtube video player with short videos.

  • @danky78 It was a joke mate ^_^

  • @egotime300 *froze

  • @egotime300 dont be a fag and use chrome or firefox retard

  • @dabearsmeyer5 I actually have a mac and it (froze) for everybody. Go troll somewhere else PC user

  • @egotime300 why the fuck did you get a mac? you could get a pc twice as powerfull for half the price. FAIL

  • neodymium and copper. how do they work?

  • To those who say there is no such thing as free energy... if that is true why does everyone want lower electricity bills?

    (Sorry, couldn't help it :) )

  • What don't you place a resistor in the circuit?

  • @U2HereY Than it would no longer be simple

  • @U2HereY Yes, the copper wire have some resistance, I didn't used a superconductor :D

  • SEX

  • wow ! what spinning !!!!!!!!!!

  • Lol i also have that battery

  • my comp crashed after it ended

  • Isso é muito legal!

  • danky can i try like larger neodymium magnet? like 3x of that magnet

  • @MarkHaxify Yes, it would go faster

  • I tried bending wires like this... it came out a square =S
