I'd still like to see HBO or someone get ahold of Red Storm Rising and put it on film...it would have to be a miniseries though to do the book any justice at all...
The interior of this Typhoon Russian sub makes no sense at all. It doesn't look at all like a Russian sub. Even if it's supposed to be a new one, it's still a hollywood studio sub, not a real one. In the real ones there is not that much space. The control room is ridiculously big. Russian subs are painted white or yellow from the inside, and they don't look like space crafts. K-19 was more realistic.
@salamander162A The Alpha sub also was all wrong.. all black and dark. I have seen photos of both Akula (Typhoon) and Lyra (Alpha) classes .. as you said they are white/yellowish. Tought the real Typhoon bridge was quite big (far bigger than an Ohio class) as its the bulge under the sail.. Personally i see the movie sets as "manipulation", the Dallas is perfectly made , but both russian subs are painted black and quite dark iluminated , like representing the bad guys
This film is real masterpiece of the 90's. I always wanted to see this movie and finally I did. Fantastic one!!! (just like the book). Sean Connery, Alec Baldwin, Scott Glenn, Sam Neill and others did a great job. Bart Mancuso was my favorite character but I really loved all of them
@shwingie300 I hope that was a joke. If not, just know that software companies have made games *based on books* by Tom Clancy. Tom Clancy has nothing to do with "making games" except perhaps to sign on the dotted line now and again.
Anyone ever heard of something called "The Hunt for Red Raktuber" ?
its made by a company called Jagex.....

The guy who plays the Russian ambassador does not look Russian at all; he looks more British.

Is there a movie where the crew of a submarine die as it sinks to the bottom of the sea?
like a movie where the crew die in the end
I am tired of watching the ones where they get rescued.
Please let me know guys

@CemkemalS Try James Cameron's 1989 special edition of "the Abyss". A US nuclear submarine encounters a tiny bit of trouble...

Yeah you're right, but about 2 months ago I didn't really know who Tom Clancy was but now I do.
Sorry for my mistake.
