I watched 2001 today, and the situation that freaked me out was the point where HAL locks Dave out of the ship. No, just before that. The scientist who left the ship to fix their transmitter has a broken oxygen supply line, and tries frantically to fix it, but fails and dies. Dave rescues him, but has to let the guy go for some reason. Outer space scares me because it's so easy to die out there, which is why when I build stuff for NASA, they test it for me.
Dave: "I don't know, just that it came somewhere from Germany or something. And it involves a new kind of Techno or Electronic music, seriously, I don't have any real idea."
my favorite parts are how the lab is still under construction. And how the shuttle needs to line up with the lab's rotation which is the way they create gravity. Very cool.
dude thank you!! someone had this up on youtube like a year ago and i used to watch it all the time. Somehow it disappeared but here it is again. Thanks!
Did you make this video? Apparently Kraftwerk saw this and... Well, just search their new live rendition of Spacelab

HAL: "What is Kraftwerk, Dave"
Dave: "I don't know, just that it came somewhere from Germany or something. And it involves a new kind of Techno or Electronic music, seriously, I don't have any real idea."

4:25 i think was the inspiration for how the Milennium Falcon in Star Wars enters the Death Star.
