This series seems to be based on the novel by Lao Kuan Zhoung. This might be a buzz kill but the historical record says the battle of Red Cliff consisted of 250 000 men for Cao Cao and 50 000 for the Wu and Lui Bei alliance. There was no long term stand off between two forces at Red Cliff. The only strategic tactic that is historically true is the false surrendering of general Huong. Lao was one hell of a creative writer though.
