Multiculturalism was established in Canada not for the purpose of immigration but for the purpose of winning votes. Trudeau knew that immigrants would come to Canada and remember the party in power. In 4 yrs time, they will become Canadians n vote liberal. The problems we face r immigrants who r unwilling to assimilate and some abusing the generous welfare system. We need to restrict immigration to skilled immigrants and their primary families. Otherwise, we risk destroying our social system.

The present immigration levels to Canada, around 300,000 immigrants a year, is simply crazy. It is not good for either immigrants or people born in Canada, since it creates unemployment, underemployment and depresses wages. The immigration levels should be cut for something like 40,000 immigrants a year, otherwise we will soon have very serious social problems in this country.
