  • lol this video is so old

  • Aaron, Thank You for this video library. I'm making a simple pocket square tonight for New Year 2012 and to connect with my dates outfit. She does not know this.

  • You are pretty cool man, thanks for the advice i will do that next time

  • Aaron is it ok to wear a pocket square in a dress vest? I do not have a suit jacket. Thanks, ur the best!

  • Hello again 240p.

  • wow, just wow!

  • Thanks for the advice.

  • Obey Aaron!

  • Wow, great advice here from Mr. AlphaM.

  • Hey Aaron - how do you feel about the color of the pocket square for different occasions - like during the day, going out, or something serious like a job/graduate school interview?

  • thanks broski

  • I take my hat off to you, Sir. Your enthusiasm for your subject and ability to present are excellent.

  • Good ! Thanks...

  • I never thought of wearing a pocket square with a sports coat. I got 2 great pocket squares, a white and black one, but not mainstream, a super elegant hand crafted one. Will try them on my sports coat tomorrow.

  • thanks man

  • you rock man !!

  • thnx man..

  • When wearing pocket squares, what kind of shirt is appropriate; like a tee shirt, polo shirt or turtleneck?

  • hmmm...pocket squares remind me of hugh hefner or a pornstars silk robe...but i guess i'll trust you :p lol

  • Great advice. As you state, choices of pockets squares at mens' shoppes are always too limited and, as I've always said, a man can make a pocket square out of just about anything. I've used napkins, curtain ties, even a small Union Jack. Use your imagination.

  • Bernard = Beta male

  • Bernard is a jackass. Great vid Alpha

  • Great tip and video. Hadn't seen this one.

  • This is a great idea Aaron. It's elegant and fun to wear a pocket square. I had a look on Wikipedia as to colour "Historically, white handkerchiefs have been used in place of a white flag to indicate surrender or a flag of truce; in addition to waving away sailors from port." As we don't live in the 19th century I say enjoy pocket squares of colour and pattern!

  • My mistake, you obviously know what you are talking about! Why did you do a search and find my video??? hmmmmm Something is fishy or should I say douchey!

  • You are such a charmer!!

  • LMAO! Good one man. Great video by the way. Thanks so much for your advice!

  • Poppin' bro! Thanks for the tip! I never woulda thunk about the fabric store! Betcha can meet some nice, middle-aged, seasoned ladies there too, huh. There may be more to the fabric store than you offered in this vid! Anyway, thanks again for the tip!

  • DUDE YOU ROCK!!!

  • My general rule for "matching" the pocket square is this: Often I will choose a pocket square that compliments one of the colors that I am wearing. But, you can also wear one that pops as long as it doesn't clash with the outfit. They don't have to match perfectly, if you are wearing blue for example, you can choose a square that is a shade of blue even if it is not the exact same shade. If you are wearing a tie, I like to choose one that picks up a subtle color in the tie.

  • I couldn't agree more! Great video thanks for posting. I also use old ties or headscarves from thrift shops.

  • Great video, I need to throw the pocket square into my repertoire. Just one question, I noticed the pocket squares you wear in all of your videos often don't match anything in your outfit--what're the general rules on colors/matching the pocket square to the rest of the outfit? Thanks, I'm definitely interested in your opinion on this.

  • in the movie 'Scarface' why does most of the men wear their pocketsquare hanging down?

  • Nice! I like the fabric store idea too. Will try that out, thanks! Good videos, btw.

  • Ooo, I could smooch him

  • You know Aaron, I have to hand it to you. I love pocket squares and I have two dozen of them. But I have been getting bored of the same colors. I never thought about the simple idea of going to a local fabric store and picking up some cool patterns and colors. Very nice idea! Btw, you should edit out of your videos the section where you grab the remote to turn of the camera (it's tacky and looks amateurish). Great video otherwise.

  • @ northwestmike i dont think its tacky... but you definitely seem to have a very condescending attitude...

  • Hey "kumaar", I'm only condescending to people who are beneath me. And people who don't know how to simply read or understand sincere comments of praise are definitely beneath me. To the poster of this video, excellent work and excellent information. I would again suggest that in future videos you merely edit out the operation of the remote control. Easy fix with Sony Vegas (or similar software) and it'll give your videos a more professional look.

  • @northwestmike... may be he doesnt want to fix his videos and may be he thinks they are all right, I for sure think that his videos are very good and informative and that is what is more important, they are in no way tacky or amateurish... and I think "I would again suggest that in future videos you merely edit out the operation of the remote control and blah blah." you repeated yourself like a broken record which by all means is extremely tacky and way beyond amateurish....

  • Aaron, you're leaving out one thing that I personally think will add a flare for style that most overlook and forget exist.

Sometime in the 60's those cheap looking plastic buttons were the general style for dress shirts.

The cuffs; french. Cuff links are an amazing piece of jewelry. One thing about jewelry, all pieces need to match. Gold with Gold, Silver with Silver.

Anyway, I'd like to know your opinion on cuff links... Aaron... regardless of mine.

  • There are other ways to fold them but I do like the way you did your, I do think men should wear them more often. I don't think that they have to be limited to suits, I wear them all the time with my other jackets.

  • I thought u are trying to go for the new style having a hankreshif or any thing in ur pocket like that is so 80's and 90's

  • I'm not sure that you are remembering the 80's and 90's accurately. However, I enjoy the pocket square, it is a modern spin on a timeless accessory. If they aren't for you, don't use them.

  • Okay, a pocket square as he says are a timeless classic accessory. The 80's and 90's, pocket squares were out. The 70's and 60's the square HANDKERCHIEF top was something that stuck out a little and was... well square often white and had no puff to it.

My opinion; business wear, no pocket square. Any other time, that isn't work or business, they're perfect.

  • @TheEgyptianOne Get a life idiot, pocket squares are the SHIT.

  • Hey thanks for a great tip. I can't get pocket squares out here but we do have access to fabric stores. Look here I come!

  • simple way to fold a pocket square! great work!

  • hey great advice! I think women always like a guy that is a stylish dresser and the pocket square is a great touch. And really cool the part where you show how you can make your own easily and cheaply - very clever!

  • This was great video. Who would of thought? Thank you.

  • simple, but very impressive. Thanks!!

  • easy and elegant for sure! thanks for the tips!
