Cool series of videos ! :D I enjoy them alot . Probably metalic residue from space , considering space is loaded with all the elements . I was wondering the otherday , where is gold formed in the universe ? What i mean , are there astroid sized gold (nuggets) flying around , or is gold created only through extreme heat and pressure in planets ? I'll go look it up . Thanks for the videos
This may seem weird...but I would miss the smell of paper/books. Older books tend to have this alluring smell, like you can just tell it has some history on it. And then the smell of new paper...The fumes have this kind of exotic scent to them. (Just to clarify, I actually don't go around sniffing paper. I just notice it when I open up an older book, or when I open a new pack of cards.)
Haha! I know. Pathetic, right? I'm such a bookworm, it's not even funny.
After thinking some more, I think I would also miss the smell of the ocean. A fresh, yet salty aroma. Fudge, I wish I thought of that answer the first time. It's a lot less pathetic than "books".
Good question, Drakken (though I like the smell of a freshly opened book as well)- I'd probably miss that rustic, woody scent that comes from a wine cabinet, or that ever familiar scent- the one I live with day in and day out- of computer fans, paints, glue, and charcoal.
If I missed anything at all, of course. I never really thought about missing scents.
I love the woody scent of wine cabinets! (Though not of wine, itself.) It just has this scent of class and it's as if it has experienced much. It has the airs of a gentleman. (Even if it's a weird notion.) But there are a few that I wouldn't miss. I can't stand the aroma of overly cleaned houses or rooms. (Like how a patient's room at a hospital smells.) It makes me sick to my stomach. And it reaks of diseption. The chemicals are almost hiding something important.Man, I'm just coming off as
the smell that i would miss, hypothetically if i went to space, would be the smell of grass, the trace of exhaust fumes from cars, and the sauce of pasta boiling.
Thank you Greg for your incredible information! I would really like to know- what does space SOUND like? On a spacewalk, what kinds of things would you hear?
@rain12bow24 Nothing. Space is a vacuum, which means sound waves have nothing to travel along. All you would probably hear is your heart beating and your breathing.
I have one question sir, when a person needs to expel fart gas do you guys have a team of special scientist's to record the exciting gas pressure from ones anus, to see how dangerous a fart could really be in space, seriously tho, if you had my moms fuken bean chili you could seriously get thrown around up there in the cockpit or area your working in from the force it emits from ones ass
I was thinking have you made many mistakes like growing accustom to the lack of gravity then triping back on earth. Or forgeting about zero gravity in space and placeing a pen on a table or somthing forgetting that it would float away?
a million light years would be MORE than a million years away, because we can't travel the speed of light and "light years" is the measurement of how far light can travel in a year... so before you start calling people dumb you should check yourself foo, lol if I was in space I would cum on your face in your sleep
are any of them pregnant, is it allowed to send up pregnant woman up in space? how would the space trip affect their pregnancy, her and the baby, can a doctor prevent you from leaving ground or who is it that decides who can and cannot leave?
has there been documented 0 G births that you have heard of?
I don't think it would be clever to send a pregnant woman into space. The worst part must be the liftoff, because there would probably be alot of G-force to affect the baby...etc..
No I've run a simulated test from his photo from wikipedia(the one in the astronaut suit) and the force exerted from hanging upside down match 100% with a still from the youtube vid here... Zero gravity would allow only slight variation..and each time I studied the physics of the model...I can only concur...Greg is upside down for these videos, and very much on earth...unless of coarse my models of gravity on earth are wrong (9.80665 m/s2)
And then again...I might be talking bollx...you decide..
But there is no gravity in space right? And where he is only slight gravitational pull from the earth...So there isnt an up or a down...he weighs 0 kg there but his mass is still the same as on earth...its just that theres no gravitational pull on the mass of his face, so it flies around..yes no??! oook
I'm just sayin, if u prove me wrong, good..I will have learned something new!
I wonder if they have to do some sort of movements in order not to feint on lift off much like what jet pilots must do in order to stay conscince while in flight. It would make more then enough sense if they had too during launch.
The people that worked on the 165 million dollar Quest air lock might have some insight into the metallic smell. Its been said that Quest airlock module is very thoroughly engineered, perhaps a masterpiece
Does the smell you describe smell like the inside of a metal used vacuum nozzle ?

Could it be that the Astronaut's suits are "rusting" away due to their direct contact with solar particles?
I think the sun is eating their suits much in the same way a car corrodes over time. Is corrosion even possible in space?
I am going to stop now, my ears are starting to bleed, due to my brain thinking too much...

They don't have Internet access on the ISS for security(hackers, viruses, etc) reasons.

I sort of like that clean, sterile smell found in hospitals, actually. I wouldn't exactly miss it, though.

its because there is no gavitational force pulling his face down like it does on earth..
