I remember watching this performance for the first time. It's so phenomenal. I justed wanted to watch it over and over again. I can never watch this too many times.

No, Michael did lip sync. You can tell this is the original recording. They just didn't turn up the mic at the right time when he started to sing out live. No matter. MJ could sing it live but he was dancing at the same time so he would be breathing too hard to sing it live. MJ is the best. R.I.P St. Michael.

If u notice when Michael Jackson spins 4:55 he hits himself with the Mike. Almost knocks himself out and that's why one of the backup singers goes out and helps him out. This was documented. That did not stop the King from continuing with the performance. Brilliant.

The man who helps Michael is a close friend, singer/pastor Andrae Crouch. They were friends for most of Michael's adult life. He and his twin sister, Sandra are evangelists and leaders of the choir.

You are very welcome. I should add that Andrae and Sandra worked with Michael on many projects. They were friends to the end. There has been a lot written about Michael's faith. Michael believed in God. Michael believed in Jesus. He met with Andrae and Sandra three weeks prior to his death, and while they both have clarified they did not pray what is called the "sinner's prayer", they prayed together over the annointing of the Holy Spirit. I'm sure he is finally at rest in God's care.
