Its absolutely pathetic that your Civic Si got smoked by a Celica GT. Even if the Celica was running Cold air intake or high flow exhaust, it makes almost no gains on a 4 cyl engine without valve lift or forced induction.
Me and my dad are working on turboing a 91 celica gt (no major differences in the older models between gt and gt-s, just cosmetics) which as you know has the 2.2 in it, this car already kicks stock with K+N filters, can't wait

I own a Celica myself, and from the specs: I'm uncertain whether what type the Si or what year the model is, but taking a 99' coupe for example: 160hp Civic Si running at 111 lbs. of torque weighing at about 2600 lbs. The race SHOULD be pretty close considering the Celica GT is only 200 lbs. lighter and producing only 140 hp stock.
Considering you drive a Celica, you should know how much this car kicks for 140 HP. Im pretty certain the Si deosnt dish out all its HP at the wheels. Keep in mind theres more than just the engine that`ll make the differance; E.i - Clutch max press.the K&N Filters are the closest thing to a "mod" in this race - but i agree that the differance its nothing close to a cold air intake or Cat-back exhaust. Indeed, i was about 3 car lenghts ahead, but it was still a close race.
