A lot of people don't understand that the ending was perfect. Heres why,the scene where Yue is at the cooking competition to marry Chen, Mr Williams adopted daughter took a photograph of Yue & quickly became inseparable like sisters. In those days photographing a person means taking of ones soul. To add, in Chens mind Yue is dead, which means he can be with Mr Williams daughter without thinking about the What ifs he had been with Yue. So in essence the Daughter is Yue.
