It's odd how a band with such brilliant songwriting had such ridiculous costume sensibilities, and such horrible production. I blame George Martin for much of the embarrassment, production wise. Lennon, McCartney and Harrison all had great songwriting sensibilities. George Martin took great song arrangements, and made them tinny and unpleasant.
