actually, it was the sound of the foot soldier falling down that prompted Raphael to say, "Clang? did you say clang?" and then it was their "FEARLESS NOBLE LEADER" Leonardo who disemboweled a foot soldier but by then they realized there was good chance that they were robots so it was an educated guess

Robotic Foot Soldiers was a brilliant idea by FHE. This allowed the turtles to go all out and hack them to pieces,and because their robots they could keep their G rating no problem!

Saban used this same idea in their Samurai Pizza Cats,by making all of their characters robots,they didn't have to cut back on the violence at all.

I believe it was in England and maybe Australia that it was called Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles. Just about everywhere else, it was TMNT--as the original comic books were called. I think it was something about a controversy involving ninjas or something that caused them to change the name in those places, as corny as that sounds. Hope this helps!
