i dont know why, but the end of this makes me want to smack Kate, because she looked at Locke like he was some stupid weirdo, when really he was trying to get her to smile. Locke was cool at first <3 !

I had almost forgotten this scene and how powerful it is. It's such a weird start to Locke's character. It's strange to see this now, after 6 seasons: The first time I saw it, I felt sorry for Kate having to take a dead person's shoes, but now that I've seen what she's done and gone through, seeing this scene again feels different. Now I wonder if she's really feeling anything about it at all; it's not that's she heartless, just VERY pragmatic. Anyway, THANK YOU for posting! :)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but as I remeber it, those two scenes don't even belong together. Locke did the orange smile to Walt at the end of the pilot (or second ep, can't remeber). It was one of those montages with music in the background

@fto2006 What show are you watching, man? You can clearly see that these two scenes are from the same cut. Just look at the clip, there's no editing there. Locke gave Kate the orange smile; his scene with Walt was the infamous backgammon/good vs. evil scene.
