It looks like a wonderful soaring machine, specially under very light thermal conditions. I would like to see a video where the Alatus AL-12 is soaring gracefully along a mountain slope.
I'm talking from a neophyte perspective. I want to try this this Summer (w/a tow plane). It looks like it barely has enough oomph to get it done. Datz all I'z sayin.
@ajony Depends if the Alatus would fall in the FAR103 category... If it qualifies, then you don't, just training. But if it fails the FAR103, then you'd have to have a sport pilot's license...
WOW! AIN'T THAT COOL!! As far as warming up the engine: it sounds like a 2 stroke. Don't know anything about THIS engine, but many 2 strokes have the oil mixed with gas, so there's no crankcase oil to heat up. And air cooled engines heat up quickly anyway. (a little too quickly in my opinion.)
I can see the blades being above useful for self take off, but that took about a minute to create enough propulsion to go. It's heavy and wouldn't be that great for motor-gliding long distances, starting and blasting a 2-stroke like that. An aluminum engine block would be expanding and contracting all day. Nose props, perhaps electric with other energy technologies would be more practical. The batteries could be used as balasts, thermoelectric modules on the motor, I believe same cost now/today

How much does this sailplane cost?

That looked pretty anemic. Even in no wind conditions. No Thank You.

@neomuttley Not as anemic as a regular glider without a tow plane.

full throttle with a cold engine. Good idea, will make the engine last longer for sure :-(

I fly in sail planes a lot in flight simulator X. They are fun.

what is the model of this plane and how much does it cost?

27000 euros? Impossable! gotta be more!

From what I saw from many websites and resources, it's that price. Google it up.

There is an electric version in testing.
