Paris is not France. There are plenty places and regions without foreigners. Like in each big city, it's very multicultural. London is the same. It's like to say that Brazil is fuill of favellas.
Paris is THE best, most beautiful city in the world period. Its architecture is also very diverse, and if you didn't see skyscrapers or towers then you must have not gone to the financial district. Paris' richness is in its culture, history, atmosphere, and night life; things that in my opinion cannot be replicated by any other city, and definitely something that tall concrete, glass and steel buildings cannot stand up against!
I think Paris is a nice city, but it isn't as diverse as Chicago. You people have no large buildings or towers! I love Paris but I like Chicago better they have the tallest buildings ive seen, they're bigger then Hong Kong and the buildings of nyc! My favorite city is Chicago, and Paris is my close second!

i'm planning a holiday in paris i have found a hotel near moulin rouge. is this central enough to walk the central area of paris?all information would be greatly appreciated. thanks
Make use of the Metro too: If your hotel is near the MR then you'll be close to the Blanche stop. Get a Metro map, your hotel should have 'em at the front desk. Also, you MUST walk around the Montmartre area, around the Sacre Coeur. It's hilly, be prep'd for a lot of stairs BUT it's well worth it! And stop at Le St Jean in the Place des Abbesses for a kir, you'll see it on the menu.

It is fairly close to Central Paris.
About 15-20 minutes walk from Pigalle would get you to Opera which is very close to Louvre, Notre Dame.
