oh i just checked, you actually dont need an alternator, just plug it in direct, they sell 12v LED's and 12v batteries for the job, i recommend Ni MH batteries or Lithium ion batteries for it because it has great mileage and good full discharge performance, only downside is that NiMH is deep cell charge and Lithium ion is hard to track since you cant accurately tell how much power it has left
try to get LED lights which will work with a dimmer so you can adjust the brightness, all that should run smoothly with a seperate battery pack, and if you like you can make your own searchlights and put a single LED bulb inside and connect it to a seperate switch so that you can have working search lights, getting a smoke machine or some dry ice dunked into the lake/pond will add effect into the scenery with a nice thick fog, lol im too eccentric about it sry xD
and if you like you can add some servo's under the turrets to get them to move, you only need a 4 channel remote for that, turret 1 and 2 can be on ch3 and turret 3 can be on ch4 while acceleration/reverse can be on ch1 and turning on ch2, im guessing you already have servo's on your rudders, and if your interested you should cut out holes in the windows you want illuminated and put some LED lights inside to make it look like people are aboard, you might need an alternator for the voltage output
you need to distribute the weight more evenly on that model, i noticed the bow was way above waterline and the stern was just almost waterline, try adding extra batteries(if your motor is electric) towards the bow or (if you motor is steam driven) make a 3/4 hp pump near the bow to get water into the boiler/s which should be at the center of the ship and have the piston motor close to the stern with a long brass shaft joined to the propellers, it would be wise to use a gearbox for multiple props
nice!!!
