Yep. His daddy, Bishop Winfield Showell, was one of the founding fathers of Bible Way. My roots are in COOLJC, which Bible Way came out of in the 50's.
It was 1957 that bibleway was founded. I know cause my Bishop came from coojc in Jamaica, but when he came to England in1957 he stared his church later a groupe of churches. He Joined Bibleway in 1961, Bishop Winfield Showell, Bishop S.E Williams Bishop Hugie L Rogers and Bishop Lawerce G Campbell Came to Bibleway Uk's First convention.
Yep, you definitely know your Bible Way history. In COOLJC, that event in '57 is referenced as "the split." I shook the foundations of the organization. It's crazy now since Bible Way has experienced its own split. They need to come back together, but you know how church politics go.
Every organization goes through stuff like that to one degree or another. The important thing should be, are you getting fed at your local church and being properly discipled? That's much more important than church politics on the national level, and that goes for whatever organization you're a part of.
Why are all the saints making a competition between Patterson and Blake. Im so glad Bishop Patterson cant witness this madness. Lets pray for our leader Bishop Blake and stop comparing them.
Bishop sure knew he could Boogie. Im not COGIC, but I can definately tell the difference and the shift and it's kind of depressing. What made Bishop Patterson great was the fact that he didn't try to be new age, no disrespect to Bishop Blake but there was a reason why Bishop Patterson was on BET with a smaller church than Bishop Blake with the largest church in COGIC.
Its definitely not you, we dont have church like this anymore. With all do respect to Bishop Blake, there is a new West Coast something? that has taken over our church. And its different. I guess you have to be from the South to understand. But honestly, I have not heard an official message like this one lately since the demise of Presiding Bishop GE. Correct me if I am wrong, but there has been a shift somewhere...
Yeah and Im from memphis, so i expect to have some church when i go to conventions...I just feel that we, the saints pay way too much money to travel to conventions to conduct business as usual!
