I've had my 2009 Chrysler 300C for two years now and have put 90K miles on it. I spend a ton of time in that car. I've had a GMC Yukon Denali XL, Chevy Silverado 3500 Duramax Turbo Diesel, Mercedes Benz SL 500, Ford F250 Super Duty, Toyota Highlander & Camry, Hyundai Tiburon, & Pontiac TA and NONE of them have been as good to me as this Chrysler. My mother and I went at the same time to buy new cars. We got her into a 2009 Dodge Avenger SRT, and me into the 2009 Chrylser 300C. Both no problems.
Ok I got a question would to high of a light bulb wattage and somthing in the light bulb is jingling around? Stock should be 55W and im running 100W should i go lower would that not overload the system and get rid of the flicker.
I have an 08 and mine is doing the same shit. If this can't be fixed. I need to get my money back ASAP. Just had the HID put in 2 days ago. Working with my second kit from installer.
I have an 08 and mine is doing the same shit. If this can't be fixed. I need to get my money back ASAP. Just had the HID put in 2 days ago. Working with my second kit from installer.
i am experiencing flickering and occasional shut off of my hids (But only when the car is on) I have a 2006 mustang gt an i got hids for the outer main lights not the fog lights. Do i need a relay kit or an anti flicker capacitor? or both? i also just ordered hid kit for the fog lights to so i will have to kits together for the car. What do i need to stop the flickering and shut off???
THANKYOU!! :) and do i need 2 relay kits or capacitors since im having 2 kits?
There's an easy fix for this, my brother had the same exact problem with his 2005 300, did some looking around online for answers and found a Service Bulletin issued by Chrysler to fix the light flickering problem at idle. The FIX to this problem is that the ECU needs to be updated with the latest software that will fix this issue. Cost about $80 and this fixed his lights from dimming/flickering, right side HID from shutting off. Hope this helps.
Chrysler builds DIARRHEA quality cars, their dealers SUCK SHIT and customer satisfaction is at an all time LOW. FUCK YOU DODGE. even WORSE than GM...
Add capacitors to each ballast and it will not do that anymore. The capacitors will hold a charge long enough to keep the lights from briefly flickering. The factory Valeo ballasts must not be designed like the Matsushita ballasts that i have retro fitted on my 08 Ram. No flicker at all and no bulb out.
So Chrysler sucks because they have issues with the Valeo Ballasts and Bulbs? The issue is Chrysler SERVICE. If Chrysler had SERVICE and would actually just FIX the problem, then people wouldn't bitch. But that's not Chrysler's cup of tea. They would rather just dick you around and that makes a sore spot even worse.
easy fix. call up xenon and get an aftermarket HID kit. usually its the ballast that makes this happen. i had the same thing happen with my 05 bmw 325. i just changed the whole HID system to xenon.
On a 10 hour drive from from Iowa to Michigan (in the dark) I had to cycle the lights off and on only once to keep them working. Start using the brights and it will flash and turn off. Oddly enough, driving aggressively, turning/braking hard will have the same effect. Wiring seems OK. Seems like an electrical issue.
The best information I have is that this is a problem with a control module that is integrated/molded into the headlight assembly and can not be replaced without replacing the whole $1400 assembly. I am just going to live with it. The car will probably last longer than Chrysler I mean Fiat I mean Chiat i mean Fiatsler
The dealer must replace all the Components of the headlight. I believe its the Ballast thats the problem. So, switching out the bulb alone will not do it.
@puertomohican I am now having this issue myself, did you get yours fixed? If so what exactly did they do and what did it run you $-wise? Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated as this one is really perplexing me, I have an 06' Chrysler 300C.
Same problem with my 300C. The flickering headlamps occurs after one hour driving with the lights on. It's a 2006 300C CRD (with the latest Mercedes diesel engine) build here in Austria Europe.
And I just got rid of my Mercedes E-KLASSE 2005 W211 because of this kind of problems...
Chrysler 300C have a serious SAFETY Issue. Its OEM HID Headlights are know to flicker on/off independently and randomly. Dealer "Cannot Replicate" and does not know how to fix. It can cause a serious accident while driving in the middle of the night or during bad weather. More needs to be done about it by DCX.
You didnt state that YOUR 300C had a problem, you made it sound like ALL have this problem. Had you stated that YOURS and A FEW OTHERS, you would>>
(continued) >> have not gotten a response out of me...
Also, I have to say sorry dude, I should not have called it a "Personal" problem because I am now going through a check engine light issue with my 300C that is highly annoying and one that the dealer cant duplicate... Again, my bad dude...
Hello, did you get your problem resolved. I am having the same problem with my dealer in Texas. They can NEVER find the problems I have with my Chrysler 300. It is strange that when I take it to someone else they find and fix the problem. You should check with as many people as you can, collect the complaints and give them to a governing board or a attorney. It is important that you get as much complaints as you can collect. Chrysler has refused to address our problems and we must warn others.
The 300 series definately has some ghosts in it's system.
Ive talked to a few guys, never a problem. 3.5/ 5.7 / 6.1, not a single problem mechanically or electrically.
Then you have me, and a LOT of other users in this world, who can barely make it 110km without the engine light coming out, the car dying randomly, or pulling so hard to the right we think we're about to die.
Some people should be put on a ONE WAY space shuttle and sent to outter space. I am a member of the 300 club in Chicago. There is about 30 of us and I have never heard of this. I bought my 05 300C back in April of 2004. I currently have about 56K on the dash and I have not had ANY problems other than a recall with something to do with the radiator (that was paid for by Chrysler). ANYWAYS, sorry puertomohican, your flickering headlamps sound like a personal problem to me...
I dont think DCX only built 30 300's. I never said it happens to every 300 out there. But it is not an isolated case. I know of atleast 10 other people that have the same problem. So, have a nice trip on your ONE WAY to space... You people are so ignorant.
@puertomohican I apologize for coming off as an *sshole. I still have a video uploaded of my 300C but I no longer own that vehicle. I guess thats what I get for being insensitive to your issue because mine shortly after had an issue. While driving between 25 and 35 mph, the tachometer and mph gauges would flip back and forth really fast like windshield wipers and then return to normal. Whatever, hope you and your C are doing well.
I have to call Bullshit on your comment about the flickering lights on the 300. I have this same flickering problem with my 300 and have been looking for a solution for several months. If you google chrysler flickering lights, you will see dozens of people looking for a resolution to a problem that chrysler says doesn't exist.
@caddyman07 GO ON THAT ONE WAY SHUTTLE! I have an 07 SRT8 300C that does the same thing. If you go on most of the forums, it's a very common problem.
It's my only problem with 40K on the odometer.
Don't put a guy down or make fun because he has a problem and you don't. HUNDREDS of us have this problem. And if you don't have the HID option you might not run into this. Was the 05 even offering HID?
@TonyMitchelldotnet I didnt make fun of him. I DID come off as being insensitive to his (and your) issue and I apologize for that.
And yes. Although the 05 was the first year for the 300, the C offered HID's. I also had (no longer own that car anymore) the headlamp washers. Its on my uploaded videos. The 300M Special edition from 04 (previous generation) even offered HID's.
You are so right. They have done this to me twice. The worst part is Chrysler service is so bad they never get it right when they try to fix it. I had my car repaired 3 times for one thing and four for another. The car has yet to be repaired. When I take the car to a independant repair facility they fix it right. The only thing worse than a Chrysler is the bad repair they botch up.

Which undoubtedly will be sooner than you think.
You still an idiot. Its a 300C, built on the LX platform, just like the charger, magnum. How would it be anybody elses fault, if chrysler is the one that built it. I love the car, its the service from DCX that sucks.
