Why on earth would the powers that be FIX the problem when they ca make money out of it, off of US?

Intentionally limited resources, services, quality, and labor pay makes the people at the top money, but that does not translate into prosperity for the rest of us. It leads to victimization of those with the least money and capital to recover from things like this

Seems there's some insane externalities here that the responsible industries cannot possibly be implicated for, and thus there'll be no compensation for those people affected. The whole idea of deregulation is that if companies do damage to localities, counties, regions, whatever... they'll have to foot the bill. How do you assess blame for global warming, and what corporation is going to take that bullet?
