  • This vid has really opened my eyes. To Akido

  • Aikido looks like a martial art that can be practised late in your life or by a physically weaker person as long as the focus is on using the opponents own force and strength against them. Combined with Wing chun it is pretty practical.

Now with that said this probably isn't going to phase a mixed martial artist but then again how often are you going to be mugged by a mma?

What I like about this is you generally stay on your feet and this leave the option of running away open unlike jiujitsu.

  • I really like Aikido technique and i want to learn it,,,,,,,

  • Muy buen video, gracias por subirlo

  • thank you for posting the vid

  • something to add to my self defence, thanks for sharing.

Now my enemy is scared of me!

    Thanks for showig this video!

  • it is one of the best a have ever seen thak you very mache...

  • it's a great video ,i learn a lot from here,thanks, please add more

  • Excellent video and demonstration.

  • This is some beautiful stuff. Coming from a non-aikido background in martial arts, the circular movement from aikido has definitely influenced what we do in our system today. The use and manipulation of balance and energy by Yamada Sensei

  • Thank you for sharing such a great video!. Pleasure to watch such a great techniques, especially slow downs :).

  • muito otimo, ass brasil

  • parabens nota mil, perfeitos

  • great koshinage technics thnx very much...

  • The law is you can show a copy and talk and commentate ...you just can't make money off it. Copyright law as I know it. Replaying and charging is off limits...but just like your music CDS you canshare them with others or let them listen because you own it.

  • of course, this is amazing video. However, you demonstrate poor ettiqutte in posting video that costs money without contacting these world class instructors. I have been lucky enough to take ukemi from most of these instructors, and have stayed at NYA with Yamada sensei. It is very inappropriate to post their videos fully here.

  • I don't post their FULL videos - i put on links and info etc,

Of course you shoud buy these dvd series if you practise aikido there is so mutch on it.

  • @AikikaiAikido Nowledge is to be shared. Thanks for posting, some don't have money to spare

  • That was excellent techniques from Yamada Sensei. Also a good uke in order to be a good nage you have to be a good uke.

  • At the end you say "Please, rate, comment, subscribe." This is beyond rating. This is out of the bloody world.

  • yes but usehiba the founder developed it from aikijutsu but evolved this martial art erasing a lot of dangerous techniques

  • Well, yes, certainly the focus is on a harmonious & peaceful difuse to an attack. But Kano had done similarly with Judo, even more so, since its now sport oriented!

    {not quite sure what your getting at......your point?}

  • i love aikido

    it is tuching

  • i was in judo for 3 years and that is a judo move

  • it s judo koshiguruma

  • the technique at 4 31 is not koshinage aikido but it s judo

  • no that was very aiki style! Where do you think these arts have come from? Do you suppose that these techniques may have evolved from a common ancestor?

Aikido comes from Daito Ryu - Aiki Jujitsu & Judo from Tenjin Shin'yō-ryū - Jujitsu!

    Very similar styles!!!

I dont mean to be rude, but you really owe it to yourself & the forebarers of the martial knowledge, to aknowledge, know & understand the history/lineage of these arts!

  • =) nice~

  • koshinage is the most spectacular aikido technique

  • coooooooool

  • waaaaaaaaa i still have a chance! i only started when i was 17. so i guess i can still reach black belt and still be young, hehe ^_^

  • when thrown koshinage i like to bend the top leg and tough the mat with my foot. to prevent my private parts from getting crushed

  • this videos are excelent thanks for sharing! saludos desde costa rica!

  • The pain of being the uke of repeated koshi-nage throws. I've seen a soft ukemi for the katatetori koshi nage throws where the uke just seems to slide off, rolling on the ground but I could never do it. Was Donovan put in a position where it couldn't be done?

  • good techniques
