  • he is an idiot. it will now rust.

  • i rofled in 0:50

  • that would fuck up the trombone even if there wasnt any clorine it would still destroy it cause of rust within the instrument but if there was clorine it would still fuck it up

  • @TheBerr123 brass doesn't rust, plus it is lacquered to prevent that, and tap water is chlorinated and is used to clean brass instruments with mild soap.

  • looks like the guy from the hangover.....

  • Must have been using that as a beer bong earlier, too.

  • Dude, you need a P-bone for that. (Plastic Trombone.)

  • isso tongo estrague o trombone....

  • Just saying if it's chlorine, it will jack up the trombone:((

  • haha, water doesn't hurt the trombone considering its usually filled with spit anyways. thats whats really awesome about this.

  • hey! put it in your ass!!!

  • very useful

  • good way to fuck up the trombone you fuckheads

  • What kind of dumass puts brass in water

  • that is....definitely not good for your trombone....but i like it :D

  • i hope you know that— you know what nevermind you look too busy being stupid...

  • i dont think you should have done that.

  • 0:37 smile for the camera :D

  • this is how i imagine the music would have been like when the titanic was sinking.

  • @stevothemanlyman OH EM GEE SO True!

  • 273 people play woodwind...

  • omg

  • Well... that's ONE way to get a rusty trombone!

  • Oh Zach Galifianakis you allways make us laugh

  • he plays in a sentimental mood by duke ellington :)

  • I made a sound like that once that was a very awkward three and a half months in the hospital.

  • Sounds like you need to empty your spit valve.

  • okay for all the little kids who are saying this is bad (which i know you are a kid) in marching band , when it starts to rain the woodwinds are asked to put their instruments up due to the pads and stuff. for brass they can still play cause it doesnt really suffer water damge.

  • Hey for everyone who likes music I PLAY THE ALTO SAX check out my sound

  • How bad is that for the instrument???????

  • Now that's an unusual type of muting.

  • Hey, he's playing "In a Sentimental Mood."....underwater...

  • Thank you for doing what all of us wanted to do, but didn't have the guts to.

  • How did I get here from drum covers of 'Paradise City'?

  • This is something I'd do while very drunk

  • 0:47 Just realised! He looks like Alan from The Hangover! :o

  • they should have invisible mouthpieces for both woodwind and brass.

  • This is dumb. My teacher would kill me if I did this with my instrument.

  • If a cruise ship full of trombone players ever sunk...

  • rusty trombone.

  • @drlepperton Trombones DO NOT RUST. That is precisely why they are BRASS.

The spit would rust and erode the metal if it weren't for brass, thus you can take showers with it or even swim with it.

  • why would you put ur trombone in the water? i play trombone and trombones cost alot to buy

  • @bubblesrock30 Brass doesn't rust. It's just like he's giving it a bath.

  • @bubblesrock30 here is the thing, the thing is made from metal. The only problem i see is the lubercation gets sticky. all is needed is to take of the bow and put fresh. Its brass so its not gonna rust

  • @bubblesrock30 You obviously don't know a lot about them, though. You are supposed to give your trombone a bath to clean it. That's pretty much what he's doing

  • THIS LADIES AND GENTLEMAN.. THIS HOW YOUR SUPPOSED TO DROWN YOURSELF WITH CLASS

  • Recent polls show that trombonists are fricken weird...

  • @JOBISBAY recent?

  • @HaloxReachxGirl If someone decides to do this with a clarinet, they probably deserve the consequences. :P

  • non dare alla gente di carne))

  • many thanks Internet

  • id be worried about the chlorine

  • this video is stupid it makes me wanna throw up

  • Brass does rust, it just doesn't rust the same as steel. Ever notice a bluish-greenish powder on your instrument? Or worse, red spots on the brass? All signs of oxidation (rust).

  • @nathanearley

This is why instruments should be made of solid gold!

    No oxidation.

  • wouldnt it rust?

  • @R3velatiOnx Brass doesn't rust. I use to give my trombone a bath every few weeks, just had to dry off the slide lock and the spit cork spring because those were the only pieces that would rust.

  • this is abusive! some1 call the PETI...or what ever organization protects instruments...

  • Gotta love Duke Ellington.

  • what the hell is this???? >DDDDDDDDDDDD

  • не портите музыкальные инструменты!

  • Brass instruments can be submerged in water. Although I'm not sure how the chlorine would affect it....

  • is this guy fucking stupid or what he doesnt deserve to own a trombone or even play one

  • @NEXTGENCRAFTING why is he stupid? He's giving it a bath, basically

  • This is why I want to win the lottery.

  • Fat jesus!

  • yeah the reason you cant have woodwinds in water is that you can screw up your pads that keep air in your instrument and i would know i play alto

  • that is the dumbest thing ever why would u do that to an instrument

  • How did I end up here?!

  • Zack Galifianakis.

  • Water does not damage brass instruments like it does to any other instruments (woodwinds, perc, ect). The only thing I'm careful about is taking the springs out of my valved instruments like my trumpet and tuba... but that is a trombone... there is nothing to be destroyed.

  • vai doido!

  • smile for da camera!! XD

  • I bet this guy likes rusty trombones...

  • This has dubstep potential. wub wub wub

  • You Jus Destroyed Your Tromobone Dumbass

  • Dude, you gotta clear out your spit valve every once and a while.

  • Hopefully that's just a student trombone. Not that that's any reason to hurt it.

  • No, it isn't bad for the trombone. It is just a pea shooter. Brass instruments are allowed to be submersed in water- unlike woodwinds. You'd have a problem if this were done with a woodwind instrument. Very pricey repair.

  • @MrsSaraWilshireBibee um... sax is submergable and is a woodwind due to its reed so you would not have a problem.

  • @RodneyBanta

umm, no. Saxophones still cannot be submerged because it would destroy your pads, breaking all seals, making it unplayable. $300+ repair easy.

  • @RodneyBanta You are right. Saxophones ARE submersible*. Go try it out and tell me what happens. I hope you don't own one or you will be about $300 under for a complete repadding.

  • @MrsSaraWilshireBibee ikr. I clean mine in the bathtub

  • @MrsSaraWilshireBibee im pretty sure chlorine isnt great for it

  • @MrsSaraWilshireBibee water's not bad for it, no, but chlorine can cause the laquer to weaken and chip. bottom line, this is stupid. I would NEVER do that to my French horn

  • @MrsSaraWilshireBibee

I would still be scared to do this with my trumpet. The trombone seems like the most fit to submerge out of all of the brass instruments. I wouldn't want to mess around with the valves. Lord help the person that tries to go underwater with a clarinet!

  • @MrsSaraWilshireBibee

But it isn't like he is giving his trombone a bath.

What about the fact that this is pool water with a lot of chlorine and pool chemicals in it?

  • @beers10 I never said it was like he was giving it a bath. I also never said chlorine was not bad for the instrument. You are putting other people's comments together and acting as if I said it. All I said was in response to all the morons saying that water was bad for it.

Did I clear that up for you, champ?

  • @MrsSaraWilshireBibee I wasn't trying to be an ass, sorry if it seemed that way. You only said that it wasn't bad for the trombone and it was fine to submerge brass instruments. I was just asking if chlorine would hurt it. And now I know it does.

    Thanks.

  • @MrsSaraWilshireBibee You're actually supposed to run lukewarm water and some hand soap through the slide to clean a trombone every once in a while; or all that crap builds up inside... XD It's very amusing to see what comes out at the end of each year...

  • @Shimmar15 lol.. you should see the inside of my clarinet mouthpiece after i've played it so much.. and haven't taken the reed off for a while... O_O when i took my reed off for the first time in a while... i thought something was gonna jump out at me... o.0

  • @bandgeekscreamer OMG... I can imagine.. XD

  • @Shimmar15 Yes, I know. After playing my trumpet for 15 years, I think I've learned how to clean it correctly. Also, working and teaching in a rental/repair shop for band instruments, I actually learned how to clean them all.

Did I say anything about "you need to clean your trombone in the pool"? No. Don't put words in my mouth.

  • @MrsSaraWilshireBibee Snd I wasn't putting words into your mouth. I was directing that comment toward people who were saying this was bad for the trombone; agreeing with you that there was no harm done to the instrument. Even if you did mess up the thing, it's your horn; so it shouldn't matter to other people what you do with it. So I'd appreciate it if you didn't start getting upset with me; I love this video.

  • @Shimmar15 By the way, dish soap works best. Most people use Dawn because it cuts through so much crud...

  • @MrsSaraWilshireBibee I tried it once, but my Private Lesson teacher insisted that wasn't good for the inside of the horn. So i stick with hand soap; it works just as well with a bit of time and effort.

  • @MrsSaraWilshireBibee screw a pricey repair.. if i did that to my clarinet.. i'd prolly end up getting a new one o.0

  • That poor trombone!!

  • Haha! Good sound. Somebody should compose somthing for water trombone. :)

  • Lol, its only a pea-shooter, no reason to get all freaked out :P

  • I'm cringing...

  • hahahaha

  • Trombone naar de zak? (=

  • Every fat guy with a beard looks like Zach Galifianakis

  • thats sooo bad for ur trombone

  • I lol'd

  • why ??

  • @ThaHappyNerds why not

  • but the chlorine will kill it, no matter what. it destroys the lacquer.

  • I understand cleaning the trombone putting it in water, but playing it in chlorine water?? lmfao

  • AHH in a sentimental BLOUM hahahaha

  • It's okay, it's his spare trombone, don't panic.

  • Everyone posting about how bad it is for the trombone: it's really easy to clean a trombone.

  • What a pity!

  • Who cares if it's bad for the trombone? He obviously doesn't, and I'm pretty sure he's the one who owns it :p

However, I am concerned for this guy's mental status.

  • i think people have been too sensitive with their instruments, since the 20th century we've been doing wierd things to instruments. makes new sounds.

  • trombocide

  • gotta wash the trombone ~~~

  • For all those who say it's bad for the isntrument. It's actually very good for it... I don't think playing it while soaking it in water is the greatest idea though. Might blow out the spit valve. And might hurt the slide. But if you've ever played a pbrass instrument. you know the best way to clean it is to give it a bath. Just make sure you get all the water out before you play again. Did that with a sousaphone when I walked I could hear a swooshy sound in the instrument haha.

  • don't do that, fat jesus! lol

  • trombone abuse.
