  • No comparison is needed. Real ART speaks for itself. Let this ART SPEAK!!!!!!!!!!

  • its like this if you sign with ca$h money you get money and most of the music is plain trash no need for real talent.

  • Wish this autotune pop got replaced, autotune pop songs sound too similar to each other.

  • I love Bahama-D 4 life...

  • @MysticalTV Who do you mean by the enemy?

  • being offensive a bit, but i've uploaded better quality version

    /watch?v=NCDiW086e3A

  • One of the Best songs I have ever heard

  • This is when I first heard of Dwele. This EP was incredible and had crazy range from this track all the way to a drum n bass track. She is a gifted story teller and a true MC, no dancers, no shiny outfits, no clothing line needed. Her lyrics speak for themselves.....

  • Real hip hop and rnb right here. Lounge and deep house music is now the new underground. The radio is dead to me. (Sorry Beyonce and Black Eyed Peas.)

  • This song is the truth....real hip hop heads...stand up...love it Philly's Finest doing it so well...

  • Its sad but when this album hit the shelves in stores, THOSE STORES werent really around like that anymore where im from, i mean the mainstream stores didnt have records like this and if they did it was one copy and it was like 20dollars!!! But All these lame artist albums come out damn near every tuesday at BestBuy & Target for 9dollars???...aint nuttin like findin good music when u can, but finding a oldie but goodie record store with some GEMS in that bitch....PRICELESS< Just like this record

  • it's funny cause we didn't get here overnight..... Jeru and a whole bunch of others tried to warn us. we playing ourselves......lets talk about beautiful things a lil bit

  • Big joint

  • I alwayz come back here to escape the fake stuff i see everyday

  • Bravo Victor!!!!!!

    VERY well said !!!

  • Bahamadia #TheTruth

  • @victornewman06 TRUE

and nicki aint got shit she a joke

  • Best music to listen to at Night

  • @nikoicee My sentiments exactly............it's almost midnight, my birthday.

  • Hey, this is major! I can feel this.

  • Positive lyrics with a message, couldn't get better than this y'all! I love how Dwele gives this track a neo-soul hip-hop feel to it. And with the concept of the song, we do need to hear beautiful things in the media instead of all of this negativity. It's sickening!

  • faaahhhk that's sick. ;)

  • Why I gotta be a hater because I'm not feeling Nikki, Wayne, Drake, etc.? If you came from the era of real hip hop that I came from, then you would understand where Im coming from and would be proud to consider yourself a hater too. For real.

  • @baldboy1da1 u not a hater u someone that has an opinion and people today are afraid to express their opinion and are bandwagon on people that are so called hot so i wouldn't pay attention to people

  • damn........3 people dislike this jam.......smh.i love this cut..the 3 that push the dislike button must have been smoking crack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • Never mention Nicki Minaj on a real hip hop video's comment section.

  • This Is Real Hip-Hop. Nikki Minaj Is All Glamour And Tits. This I Real Rhymes, Real Storytelling, Real Soul. Real Music...

  • LOVE THIS!!!

  • THIS WAS HONESTLY A PINNACLE ALBUM FOR ME WHEN IT CAME OUT.....I WAS IN COLLEGE, AND USED IT FOR ONE OF MY VIDEO PROJECTS.......BEEN FOLLOWING DWELE SINCE...........

  • hahaha shot victor. Don't know how anybody could call nikki minaj an MC. As for Bahamadia, she's real and dope.

  • how does anyone figure to compare bahamadia to niki minaj??? bahamadia is OG... a REAL femcee!!

  • @flymarco2 I notice that you are a child, and comparing Bahamadia (a REAL MC) to Nicki Minaj (A Fake POP star with no lyricism) is something your generation likes to take pride in, along with incorporating ignorance like it's some badge of honor. I honestly don't know why you are on here commenting. Now if you want a history lesson, I'll be glad to give you one :) The people that comment on my page are purists that appreciate the grassroots of hip hop, not gimmicky pop.

  • @victornewman06 Man's just sayin' ... - re: flymarco2 "not better than Nicki Minaj..."

  • @victornewman06 well said victor... tell him!

  • @victornewman06 Don't stereotype my "generation". I was nine when this music was new, and I have nothing but the utmost respect for it. Nothing can beat it, and the current shit on the radio will never come close.

  • @Dookie2121 Well homie, you are in the smallest consensus and you might want to school your peers. Don't mean to marginalize, but hell, your voice is being drowned out by the buffoons in your age group! LOL

  • @victornewman06

kind of unfair. if the generation isnt exposed to it then who are we to judge. i mean when i was a kid i listened to ludacris ti etc then got into nas a tribe called quest you get the idea. but yeah its unfair to think that you're above and more "intelligent" than someone who may like nicki minaj.sure this has a message but nicki holds kids attention and at a certain age of immaturity that may be what the person grows up liking and listening to.

  • @Batistaisbest Oh by the way, you said, "If the generation isn't exposed to it then who are we to judge?"

My answer is with the vast information out there in the super highway, that's no excuse not to look for it, hell we did, and with limited technology. Food for thought

  • @victornewman06

if nobody is there for them tho then they'll never even bother to look. i highly doubt someone will sit in a room and be like"hmmm i wonder where my ancestors came from" etc. to truly have a revolution then pass down to the next generation. and you dont see crate digging as an extension of that?(just a question)

  • @Batistaisbest No excuses!

  • @victornewman06

    wow...alright man

  • @victornewman06

and this is what happens with every new generation. im sure that the generation before you saw you guys as "buffoons" . if you want things to change then youre going to have to do your part. tell people about who these people are because this is the first time listening to bahamadia. i found her through towa tei

  • @Batistaisbest Actually it is fair, cause if you want to put these rappers and self hating buffoons on a pedestal, then you are as culpable and accessible to criticism as well them. This is exactly what you guys like to do: you like to shift the blame and raise that "when you were young, the older generation thought your music was buffoonish" argument. That's not valid.

  • @Batistaisbest Let me not say "you guys". I'll just say a large consensus in the younger generation. That argument is not valid because my generation embraced the older generations music because being at least 10 years removed from the civil rights generation, that connect with history was still relevant in our minds. Granted, there was drugs, gang violence, self hate, black on black crime, but the music didn't reflect that. The music will always reflect the mindset of its people

  • @Batistaisbest Now, since the younger generation feels there is no struggle, then it's ok to glorify off of nonsense, while white corporate america funds that self hate under the guise of music. You learned of Bahamadia through towa tei, good for you. Hopefully you will be able to school some of your peers and realize there's great music out there besides what you see on MTV, BET, Fuse, etc.

  • @victornewman06 i agree i feel there are far to many single minded blind people that could do with learning more about themselves maybe even a bit of culture and keeping there opinions to themselves unless they have truly understood the meaning of what they are talking about please carry on educating people with more amazing music thank you

  • @victornewman06 Amen & Hallelujah!

  • @victornewman06

fuck yeah, im 17 and everyone compares the true ARTists to Drake and shit. Its like our generation lacks true music appreciation

  • @victornewman06 Hahaha. Nikki Minaj makes me think fo that old song (and video) by Big Daddy Kane: "how u Get a Record Deal". The "grassroots" of most forms fo music are all but extinct. And the brotha and sistas that still make this music are underrated, unappreciated, and have become underground artists. The era of great music ended with the nineties.

  • @victornewman06 I am a purist. 20 yrs+ as a fan. Check Nikkis version of Biggies 'warning'. Without all the pop bullshit attached to it. Come on bro. A pop star, yes. She HAS crossed over. But FAKE and NO LYRICISM are bad descriptions of her bro.... I think Bahamadia and Jean Grae are superior rappers...but Nikki has it too. By the way, my fav MC's are Pharoahe/ Masta Ace/ Mos def/ Doom/ Styles P/ Scarface/Talib/Ghostface/Kool G Rap...and I am 35.

  • @Zeph100 I heard that Warning cut. I'll give her an 'A' for effort, but I wasn't impressed LOL. She slurs and her delivery didn't match the bed (dragging, took me right out of it). But I will say this: I will listen to THAT Nicki before I listen to that barbie crap anyday!!! I'm not doubting your stance on where you stand with her music, it's the simple fact that I support artists that believe in the preservation of the culture, and she's just another AGENT tainting the music, simple as that

  • @victornewman06 fair enough bro...

  • @victornewman06 my man

  • @victornewman06 THANK YOU,my goodness,just..thank you.You said everything i wanted to say

  • @enbilulugugal No, thank you understanding where I'm coming from on this issue

  • @victornewman06 Your response to flymarco2 gave me goose bumps.... I feel so strongly that beauty in our art form is dying a slow death and the mainstream is killing it...... We need Change!

  • @wwil74 need a real hiphop revolution!!! bring back those messages, flows, soul, the beats and just the over all feeling you get when listening to hip hop in its purists form

  • @wwil74 we definitely need that!!! Each one, teach one!!! Thanks for the support :)

  • @victornewman06 whilst i do wholly agree with your comment, you cant tar a whole generation with the same brush. not sure how old you are, but im 31 and i know people in their teens who know a lot about 'real' music and respect the roots of hip hop. i also know people my age who listen nicki minaj, watch xfactor and only listen to commercial nonsense. i know i would rather chill with a teen who knows, or is willing to learn about, decent music than someone my age who gives life to cheap music

  • @flymarco2 name 1 decent topic that nicki rhymes about??? Just think...female mc's like Queen Latifah, MC lyte and Missy Elliot rhymed about social issues so that these new females can pose like fake barbies and push the same images that porn does X(

  • Comment removed

  • @flymarco2 y everbody hiding my opinion nicki is selling buy #PinkFriday now

  • @flymarco2 So what?

  • @flymarco2 you must be retarded you dont get the fact that they wash ya brain with that barbie bullshit how would you feel if your daughter was walkin around lookin like a porn star.....exactly no one likes or wants to see some shyt like that so stop justifying the bullshit that my generation does cause upseting and totally unnecessary for someone with the talent she poses to make us as black girls and girls like me who have dreams of being a femal recording artist look bad.

  • @flymarco2 you must not know how much people before us went through to be on the radio and for someone wit talent to make something so...............fake and then go and call her self a woman........but actin like a barbie

  • @flymarco2 oh wow. this is my first time hearing her and shes already said more in one rhyme than nicki did in an album. not hating just sayin

  • The beat on this song is so fly!

  • I hate her voice bt itz the 1god gae her nd oooooo man she is talented wow I am feelin her words man im jus sittn hea blown away rite nw

  • The best female MC!

  • Best female rap artist. Period.

This is the standard of female rap.

    Anything else is bafoonery.

  • This chick's style is CRAZY HOT.....4real

  • Love this song...BB Queen album was esquisite!!

  • Ok, this is really good! Just when I thought the hip hop I knew was dead, Bahamadia brings it back. This is the turn hip hop should have taken, but it was reading the map upside down.

  • Had to revisit this joint coz of my ex flame.DAM

  • This is REAL Hip Hop, someone please bring it back!

  • @shinladin Absolutely!

  • this a perfect example of how hiphop should be,p[hemononal lyrics by the lady bahamadia, and a to smooth voice form dwele on one beat, what do you want more

  • This is TRUE inner-city music. I always play this in the background to another video here on YouTube, where someone is driving throught the streets of Camden, in London. Of course, it would be just as appropriate for any big city, especially at night.

  • love the end of it with the tune

media needs to talk of more beautiful things

  • Absolutely my favorite female MC. Do dat shit bady girl..

  • uknowhowwedu

  • these jazzy beats gets no love on the radio..im sure people will just love to hear this but it gets no love.. this reminds me of chillin with my gurl in chicago in her apt. blunt rollled and fumbling in the dark for a cd and popped in this gem. like finding a 20 in ya pocket before you do some laundry.

  • @freddydigi lol random ass thoughts but i feels u

    (guess im random too)

  • @chocthunda85 that's a good thing. Who like ordinary anyway! lol

  • @freddydigi luv that...feel that...KNOW that!!!

  • This is one of the best songs I have ever heard. When ever im feelin bad i listen to this and it just brings me back down to earth. Amazing BB Queen all the way.

  • It's funny how the voice towards the end of the track makes the comment about change. "Why are people so opposed to it?" It goes on to make the observations amongst musicians that "most 'popular musicians have a recognizible sound" while some keep changing their music and their image.

  • :O que vide muy bueno

  • damn 74k views do ya guys really wanted to see nude pics of bahamadia

  • Thats a beautiful comment

  • best female MC

  • @verdesh91 word up!

  • I dont know twhat album this song was on but i have it and its slappin....Hard ... People dont speak on whats current ...They just speak on what they so called been threw and what they have.....Its weak know soul in that at all ..Keep it up Dwele

  • BB Queen (2001). Kinda hard to find these days. My original CD got scratched and I had to get it all from shareware cuz I couldn't find another CD.

  • wow this a deepm song she is representing women as a strong race being a drummer playing a masculine instrument it helps to see a woman making us look great go girl

  • True school MC for sure!!

  • Its amazing, you can take todays rappers and take all there songs and out of there entire album it will not sum up to one verse of what she does or others such as Rakim, KRS, Big Daddy Kane has done.. If you know anyone who states Lil Wayne is the best rapper, well he may very well be but he still could not be considered an MC let alone the best MC out.

  • thank you its like the same thing i have been saying this song is real hip hop it has a soulful feel to it though dwele is one of my favorites he complements it the best i love him rappers turned stupid into a complement its sdo stupid hip hop is changing so quick we need more of this

  • This was a classic album BB QUEEN respect.

Feelin' The Lyrics Along With This Tight Music Vibe To Go Along With It That Definitely Need To Be Heard & Wished Real Rap & Hip-Hop Like (This Type Of Music In General & Artist As Such Within The Neo-Soul, Conscious Rap, Lyricism Area) That Wasn't Slept-On. This Is The Truth.
