  • are those plastic straws?

If so how did you connect them?

A way to demonstrate this movement in a inexpensive way

  • @1950teach im not the one who made this but you could flatten the end of the straws and put a thumb tack in them then cap them off so they dont come off

  • what are you talking about its not fake

  • stupid_____

how it can be fake ?

  • bc its not real

  • :D okey_____

  • no__

    you dont know

    you are stupid :D

  • No. The movement is accurate, although there is no wheel to make the movement more smooth and the legs are too long (the leg proportions should follow the golden ratio for a smooth movement)

  • So, this video is not fake and it is indeed a Theo Jansen's mechanism.

  • Duh! Of course not. But it is a Theo Jansen's mechanism, because it is NAMED after Theo Jansen, the original inventor. See!

  • So. Can I ask why the previous response, then? The one you said: "no its not made by theo jansen". If you know that although it is not made by Theo Jansen, it is a Theo Jansen's mechanism because it is named after him, why didn't you seem to know what I was talking about?

  • Don't know that language too.

  • golden ratio?

  • yes...phi

  • Yes. The length of the leg divided by the length of the frame perpendicular to the leg (or any one composing the square above it), should give the golden number, that is about 1.6.

  • Le falta la rueda central, sin ella el movimiento es errático

  • q pitero sigue intentando
