The movie was one of the more intriguing films I watched in 2009. More poetic litany's have been written, shouted from mountaintops and heralded from sea to shining sea. But this work, as patchwork as it may seem, in the grand scheme of things, is impressive if not simply because of the mood, the tone, and the nerves upon which it resides.

It could be re-done, re-edited, or even have more attention paid to the musical score. The cast of characters are endless. The science fiction boundless.

this is an extremely intelligent movie, full of metaphors,which tackle vital societal issues in an imaginative fun way.

the movie is mind blowing with awesome casting, which lent to the mood the director was trying to create.

if it did get bad reviews, it's because the reviewers couldn't understand the metaphors and their attention spans aren't long enough to appreciate the mood which was created.

my advise to them is go watch 2012.

I think this is one of those movies only "some" ppl can appreciate. There are different levels the mind can reach, and most average humans are too lazy to think outside of the box. The music did make this film a hell of a lot better! Great video! YOU'RE A PIMP!!! :D

I watched the movie because of a bad review > I just could not believe that it's as bad as the reviewer described it. And at first it was terrible! But I couldn't get the movie out of my head because 1. cool OST, 2. some scenes remind me of David Lynch, 3. nice weird but sometimes just pointless storytelling! Maybe the graphic novels will enlighten me.

I still think it's crap, but certain things about it also wanna make me love it. My conclusion: I'm a pimp. And pimps don't commit suicide!

Yes! This movie is very underrated! Richard Kelly is a genius with uncanny/fitting music selection and his visions are a very much needed injection to our ho hum traditional hollywood formulas and our society as a whole. I actually like ST more than DD and DD has long stood my favorite movie.

This music is the true essence of everything this movie represents. I love this song, and I am deeply attached to it. Moby conducts amazing music, and I am glad to say that I love Richard Kelly's imagination, because a lot of people hate it. Donnie Darko, and Southland Tales are both very, very well done.
