  • I was only able to get up to episode 12 on Netflix.....boooo

  • this video is really great!! I mean its amazing!!! you did a really good work... I didn't know about this anime but now Im gonna watch it for sure... :)

  • Nice amv! Good job!

  • So amazing!! Its its... I can't describe it..

  • Soo who is the song by? And the name of the song?

    The song is bad ass

  • @Shamnambul The song is E.S. Posthumus - Nara

  • Watching this again. Epic music. Very impressed, my boy.

  • is this song in the anime ? I dont remember hearing it in the anime.

  • they need to continue the anime but skipping some parts, like the girl that sometimes has vagina sometimes a cock and this guy half frog, totaly absurd it really kills the realism of the story.

  • This film is beautiful visually and spiritually but if one does not slow and quite their mind the pace of the film will cause its beauty to escape them.

  • i usually hate amvs but, well done!

  • This is really on another level of anime (and manga)... it somehow feels deeper than anything else I've seen :)

Great AMV, it really brings to the surface some of the subtle beauty of this amazing piece!

  • Im 12 and what is this??

  • GREAT

  • What´s the name of this song, please?

  • this might be the best amv ive seen on youtube, the way u made it kinda makes me forget all the gore of the anime :)

  • @Joao42

I'm glad. :) Because for all it's gore, it is still a stunningly beautiful anime.

  • @chokedbythorns I bought this anime on a whim and have yet to finish watching it. So far however it has proven, although disturbing, to be one of the best twisted dramas I have watched. This music and the compilation do it credit!

  • @geisun When you finish the anime, be sure to look up the manga. The anime only covers the first 6 volumes (there are 15 total).

    I'm glad you like it!

    I'm glad you like it!

  • @chokedbythorns The gore is what make it an amazing anime/manga xD

  • You missed one great clip, though. When Kogan clinches and breaks his teeth in the fight against Irako.

  • Great stuff. Loved the anime. This and Samurai X are the best two samurai animes.

  • Volume 15 of the manga just came out in Japan! The series is now over. Hopefully we'll soon get a continuation of the anime.

I'm eagerly awaiting the translation of the last volume into English. It concludes with Irako and Fujiki's final duel.

  • @chokedbythorns Yes. I have seen the last volume of Shigurui. I really hoped more action and another volumes because the manga is amazing and also the author should show us SHIKA's story. Well, I am uploading this manga. Do you know what fansub is tralating this manga into your language (English). Octava no fansub traslates this manga into Spanish. Fujiki is a great samurai.

  • @chokedbythorns and what did you think about the end of the manga (as far as I'm concerned so strange yet so true)? I hope that if they ever adapt the second part of the manga you'll be here to make an amv (for I am still so obsessed with what you've done here. More than one year has passed and I have to come regularly to watch it again and again). I heard you'll perhaps do a basilisk amv, that's good news :)

  • @alcyone1757

I LOVED the ending, but it also nearly made me cry. It haunts me still... after finishing it, I concluded that Shigurui qualifies as genuine literature. I mean, on par with all the great literary classics, even though it's a manga XD. The story it tells is absolutely profound. Someday, if I'm ever a college professor, all 15 volumes will have a home on my shelves next to Manyoshu, Genji, Ugetsu, and Heike Monogatari, because it's just that incredible.

  • @chokedbythorns Oh, I have bought Heike monogatari (after reading its beautiful opening sentence!) -Helen mac Cullough trad for there is no french one, I heard it was the best, do you agree?- but I have difficulty in reading it, I must admit (I wish it would be told aloud, like ancient tales were in ancient times!)! Which one do you prefer among those you quoted?

I couldn't bear the last page (a dream? a past scene? or the vision of a mad man whose whole world had just been devastated?).

  • @chokedbythorns Strangely, shigurui is based upon a novel -which I doubt is not as good as the manga for less ambiguous-.

I hope you'll prove to your future students that this is not "oriental crap" or "popular (derogatory use here) culture"; for this is what I unfortunately hear the most. Sometimes I cannot help but consider that shigurui is all about the birth (and death) of individualism in a society where such concept did not and could not exist.

  • Nice video. I am uploading the manga, I have recently uploaded chapter 45. The second season is already uploaded in my channel. Have a look it.

  • One of the best AMV I have seen gj

  • i watch this at the very least 4 times a day :)

    Perfection,utterly brilliant AMV.

    Thank you

  • That was beautiful work, my friend. You know who this is, chao.

  • I love the projection sof their samurai spirits, as a tiger for Kogan and a as a dragon for Irako. Great job!

  • shut up fag

  • The fact that I keep coming back to this video, I gotta say again:

    Awesome awesome work!

  • love this soooooo much :D

    you did a great work!!!!!!!!!!!!

    and song by E.S.P. that´s awesome :)

  • Good Job. Truly well made.

  • This is what a epic Shigurui AMV is supposed to look like, sound like, and feel like! Awesome work, my friend, awesome work! Fav'd.

  • Thank you for the fave!

  • @chokedbythorns this is awsome, really....but where do you find shigurui manga in the online?

  • @Anime2Music totally agree man i've been looking for a good AMV for Shigurui all day, Makes me mad when people just mix a crazy hardcore rock music on that! Guys think before doing such thing or don't do it, try to be creative, inspire!

  • Tanks a lot for this great Amv, the music is very well chosen (and you make me discover a very powerful track), truly what you have done is beautiful. I especially love the part between 0,55 and 1,45 : this is magical!

As someone said before, keep up the awesome work :)

    excuse the poor english :(

  • Thank you for your generous words. I'm very glad you liked it!

  • thanks chokedbythorns 4 this great amv, i love shigurui and you did a beautiful vid thanks again.

  • What is the music? I cant find it anywhere else on youtube

    That said, amazing AMV!

  • @kermynitro

The music is "Nara" by E.S. Posthumus. It's a tribute to the ancient Japanese city of Nara, which was the capital of Japan 1,000 years ago yet still stands today.

  • Late reply but thankyou!

    Keep up the awesome work

  • Very Beautiful. Something like the movie Hero. I'm adding this into my favorites.

  • this anime looks really interesting!!! i'm gonna start watching it right now!!

  • I highly recommend it. However, because the manga is not yet finished, the anime ends after the second major story arc. It still ends with an unforgettable showdown between two powerful samurai. :)

Hopefully they'll make a second season once the rest of the manga is finished. The manga can be read online as well.

  • best shigurui amv out there!!

  • Woot a Amv that the music 100% fits with the anime its self. Really well done amv. Shigurui <3

  • wow man! You're the best! I tried to make Shigurui AMV myself, but when I saw THIS I realised that my clip was just a f*ck*n' waste of time. Thank you wery much, that's how REAL AMV must look!

  • @Killbasa1990

Wow, I'm grateful for your compliment--It even made me laugh a little :) I'm happy you enjoyed it so much. But hey, go ahead and make that video -- support the fandom!

  • This is one of the best editing and sound jobs on a AMV I have seen. Nice!!

  • @Windowlicker77

Thank you. I'm truly honored to hear that. :)

  • Exelent Timing!

  • Amazing !

What an Epic Anime ! <3

This AMV fits Shigurui so much !

  • you captured this very nicely

  • For those of you who asked, the song is "Nara," by E. S. Posthumus.

The song is named after the old Japanese capital of Nara. Though no longer the capital, the city still stands today.

  • the ending was a bit abrupt, but perfect beyond that.

  • What is the name of this music?

  • oo yah 10/5 stars, and in my favs ;)

  • fantastic job my friend!!, i can really feel all the aspects you were explaining, i think bc you know much of the art of the samurai, and culture like we were talking about, this vid totally compliments the actually anime and manga!!!

  • good work

  • Geat amv, really matches to the mood of the show

What's the name of the song?

  • Shigurui,

My favorite anime of all time.

  • Never Seen this anime before.

  • You're really missing out, also read the manga.

  • freakin epic anime and manga!!!!!

  • The best, they need to turn the rest of the Manga into an anime after Yamaguchi Son is finished.

  • i hope they do!!, but you never know :P

if they do im just gonna be going friggin insane with bloodlust and happiness and delight ... hehehe ; )

  • Same here, it's the most realistic samurai anime, and maga ever made not to mention the sword fights are realistic too. There's no elaborite KI technique bs, I see [ep[le knocking this anime for the fights being too short, but apparently they must just live in a fantasy world imo because if a highly skilled motived swordsman swung a razor sword into a persons body, that's all it would take is on blow to kill them. I just wish more people would understand that, not to mention Samurais were'nt

  • always the good guys they were envisioned to be in other anime like Samurai Deeper Kyo, or some others. Alot of them had their own dark ambitions, and twisted desires they dealt with, wich Shigurui makes apparent. Like Yamaguchi said when he was aked about why there were'nt any heroes in the story his only reply was: "They exist in a time were good deeds were often not rewarded." That being early 1600's Japan were there were many unemployed samurai left over from the wars who all tried at all

  • costs to find their own niche.
