@professionalairsoft close to Goodsprings is an area that the locale are scared of; for there are unexplained sandstorms at night with no visible wind, excepting that area in particular. It is known as the Hidden Valley. There are three bunkers of varying Lock-picking difficulty, one of which contains the answer to your questions.

There is also an NPC in a town named Victoria; aside from being a lesbian she is also a BoS member. She can help you. Be warned, the Hidden Valley is patrolled nightly

I survived being in the glow for for 2 minutes without rad X and well I made it to the brotherhood in one try.... Was there some kind of glitch or was that just plain luck?

@Cheatmastr If you were quick in-and-out, then you can survive. But there is more to the glow then just getting the holodisk, which is why you need the Rad-X if you wanna go down into lower levels.

the rope comes from shady sands the guy in the front gate has it ian found in shady sands tyhco in junktown dogmeat also in junktown and kajtia in the boneyard also you could get tandi if you dont return to shady sands

when you geta certain amout of radiation

and all your stas start droping and the rad-ways dont make a difference. so if you dont have lot and lots of drugs(buff,psy,ment) in which case you can go just outside and wait it out your screwed.

Also, i liked the glow because there is alot of explanations about what happen in fallout world.

And in fact with the radiation, you will die soon after you leave if you absorb too much. It can also temporarly loower your stats.

you can join the BoS later on in the game during take it back!,there is also a BoS based game,its called Fallout: Brotherhood of steel

thats because you ran through the game whithout grinding, exploreing, and doing side-quests (i beat the game (before i got to broken steel(I'm currentley lv 21))at lv 17) and i ativated the purifer in about 10 hours

There is a rope in the town at the beginning, Klamath I belive they call it, before the radscorpion Quest. Just move one screen to the right and look inside the smaller house at the bottom of the screen, near some rubble it is.
