i had one just like it in 1969-72 which was white....it was pretty badly maintained when i got it, but still an amazingly powerful cycle...95 mph without even trying [yes, i was young and stupid].....loved the sound of that Super Hawk..i'd buy one now, but was shocked to recently read that the mortality rate among motorcyclists is now TEN TIMES what it was when i rode in the late 1960s....hard to believe....
Nice find. I owned on of these (new) in 1967. Got it for $725. A lot of money at the time.
It was odly enough all white. The later versions 68 or so had chrome fenders and higher rise handle bars than yours is showing. They would not come close to staying with a Triumph or BSA. I later owned a CB450 - it would almost stay with a Triumph Bonnerville.
Looking good. For anyone watching, the clutch cable should run behind the rubber tank mounts, and under the tank. That idle sounds rather high as well.
@spargett Thank You. The clutch cable came with the bike and is not for a low bar model, a new correct cable has since been installed and routed correctly as you pointed out. Now that I have also installed a tach cable, the idle was also adjusted quite some time ago as well. (also installed a cyb77 race seat and new headlight ring).
@downtownscoot Good to hear. These bikes tend to pick up an interesting assortment of parts over the years as they pass through owners. Sounds like it's time for an updated video!
Had one of those. Rode it 400 miles in one day--painful experience. Traded it in for a VW beattle. What a come down but drier in the rain. Ah, those were the days.
I think thats the leading cause of middle age crazy - having to "get responsible" during that time of our lives. Amazing what a simple photo or even a smell will cause a fun memory. Thx for the feedback!
Glad you enjoyed it! It was the last bike on my have to sell list and I'm thrashing like crazy to hold on to it. My favorite thats for sure. Thanks for the feedback!

I bought a new one like this in 1966. I loved it and wish I still had it.

@spargett Anu unmolested bike is almost unheard of anymore alright. I need to match the rear and front fenders before any more videos most likely.

A red one is the first bike I bought brand new. I think it was about $700 in 1965.
I'd forgotten how beautiful they were... especially with the flat bars, like you have.
I bought a black 1968 in about 1973 or 4. Now I wish I'd kept it.
Thanks for posting this.
