Honestly, I don't see the bad in this car...for people like me, it'd be a great first car for a teen or someone who commutes daily. It's not too big, not too small, and it's got all the basic features for around 10k BRAND NEW. I've seen these, year 2005+, go for less then 3k with around 45k miles on it.

@coddude196 Not necessarily a bad car, but part of the reason you see the ones you talked about is that owners don't want to pay for the necessary to prevent engine damage in this car, timing belt change, so they get rid of them before this necessary maintenance would need to be done.

I just hated when some stereos in the cars ask for the 4-digit code, because you'd had to take apart the dash just to get it. My brother's Volvo, my mother's Saab, and my sister's Saab have those stupid 4-digit codes on their stereos.

I brought this car new in 2005. It was my first new car out of high school. I have been teased by SO many people for getting an Aveo but honestly it has been very reliable. I still have it and its almost at 100,000 miles. No major problems. Its not as "cool" as other cars but it gets the job done. Love it!

I HATE THIS CAR. i just gave our 2005 aveo back to my mother in law and bought a 2004 Mustang GT. This is probably the most underpowered little puddlejumper ive ever owned. All it is is a repackaged Daewoo Kalos. Why Chevy ever let this thing come off the assembly line is beyond me.

quick note to saabkyle. when a motor is making a ticking noise like that, pull the oil cap with the vehicle running. If theres blow-by, usually indicates serious internal engine wear/issues.

They were inherently of poor quality! I know, I have a Daewoo in the garage. Their quality couldn't hold a match to their competitors. Common problems were premature timing belt failure, wheel bearings, thermostat housing failure, quick serious depreciation, valve tap, very poor gas mileage for their size, etc, etc. Our other car is a Honda Civic and it outshines the Daewoo ten to one. I like the Daewoo, but they defintiely had quality issues! Look up Aveo reviews, you may see the same.

Chevy makes a good truck and car, it just seems they could've made the interior alot better. like for example, they put a tiny little radio deck and a cheap looking slot underneath the deck. it looks like a very easy job to put a new one in, but it just looks a little cheap. the newer ones are a bit better, using GM's better looking bigger radio deck.

I'm pretty sure that switch beside the inside driver door pull handle is the passenger-power mirror. I know Saturn SL's have that feature....one power mirror only.
