@nzbushman46 how does living in the past help? I used to work for the NZFS and I currently work for DOC and there wasn't anything magical about the old FS. Incidentally, the possum/kea sequence is not a set up.
as a possum trapper i know blood can attract possums and i know of possums eating blood and bone fert on veg patchs possums are operturnest, but i only belive they will take eggs live birds if starving, just like they perfer certain types of vegertation over others . cattle if starving will start to eat dead cattle if starving, weres the footage of the live kea before the possum turns up ,
@LoLamont you are well within your rights to agree with anyone you wish. However it seems to me that the key question is if this is a Kea nest at all? Perhaps TrakaBat could produce that evidence, I assume its easily done. I would also assume that placing a camera into a wild kea nest in westcoast bush isn't easy and if they could put videos on every nest they would. but at times they must resort to motion triggered cameras which is what this evidence is.
Also, while I'm here, the guy says 2hours is a long time for an animal to die, what about 1080? An animal poisoned with 1080 will take from two hours to die,
to several days, depending on the dose. I think that's a bit inhumane don't you???
This most certainly proves more than Thefunnyfilms thinks, it proves that some people would ignore the truth when it is staring at them in the face. This is footage that is very very easy to prove authentic unlike mad conspiracy theories like his. The later tends not to get on TV as a prime time news article. But I guess some people just don't get it.
@DreadlockProductions I agree with funnyfilms, it looks like it has gone into its nest and found a dead chick and dragged it out. Please show us footage of the possum actually killing it and ACTUALLY eating it TrakaBat!!! You have video footage of the stoat, why not the possum?
This proves nothing. The light on the possums is moving, so someone is attending the filming - meaning it is not a remote incident, and most likely a baited incident. The other thing is - if you put a dead bird into a possums hole, they are likely to want to remove it, which is what appears to be happening here. What the possums is investigating (not eating) appears to be dead. If you are serious about protecting birds, why not trap the possums and stoats, instead of enticing them to the nest.
