  • Mind Blowing !!!!!!

  • Lindsey Buckingham has got to be one of the most underrated guitar players around.

  • Mick Fleetwood confirmed a full band version of this song is going to be played in the upcoming "Unleashed" tour, featuring primarily greatest hits.

  • Can anybody else link me up to some music that is this powerful? It is just raw talent in an amazing song. I need more of this in my life!

  • you might like this... try supertramp's school, rudy or cannonball. hope you like it, its a groovier group though

  • this is so good it is bone chiling what else is there to be said!!!!!

  • I prefer this to the studio version. Lindsey is such a wonderful musician, and very underappreciated. Shame, really. One of the best ever.

  • Where can I obtain a copy of this version? Or even this video to download to my iPod.

The version of the song on iTunes is not as good in my opinion.

  • You can get this version of this song on "the very best of fleetwood mac cd" Lindsay Buckingham originally released this song back in 1984 on the Go Insane album. It was originally faster though.

  • This and Big Lov from the same DVD sooo need to be on a Guitar Hero game.

  • YES!!!!!

  • This is such a powerful performance! I have to admit that when I first heard the song it wasn't my favorite on the album... but it has grown into one of my absolute favs! I can't play it just once and will often listen to it 3 or 4 times in a row... it still doesn't compare to Stevie singing Gypsy or Landslide.... but they have SUCH incredible musical chemistry and they both bring this smoky depth to the music that is timeless.

  • love it!

    listen it all the day.

  • this man does not get the recognition he deserves as a guitar player.

  • Underappreciated guitar player!

  • Here I am looking around on YouTube and I stumble upon this around midnight by sheer chance. Now it is 2:30am and I am still watching this and listening on headphones. This is a staggering performance.

  • Dude I have the CD of that concert and this song is not there... WTF?

  • It is on the DVD version only. I think maybe they put it on the more recent best-of from Mac too.

  • he still look great after all these years..urghh...men always does that!! is lindsey married?kids.???..

  • I like to see early members need to reunion tour, in particular, Peter Green, Mick, Mcvie, Spencer, Welch, and of course Danny Kirwan

  • appropriately i thought the whole "emo" thing was dead now anyway.

  • No it's not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You're a loser.

  • If you want to die then please, off yourself. If you haven't the brains to understand that your thinking is absolutely wrong and unhealthy then please, remove yourself from the gene pool.

  • this guy is brilliant this track sends shivers down my spine

  • God this is beautiful.

  • I didnt know this was on the Dance DVD. This is the best version of this song I have ever heard. He definatly sings with more emotion than anyone ever.

  • This is from a reunion tour done in 1997 called The Dance. This particular cut is one of the best versions he has ever done. Check out the rendition of Tusk where they have the USC Trojans marching band in for backup..

  • what concert was this?

  • he never uses a pick i love all there songs and have the tape and the video of this concert brill

  • The latest fleetwood mac album just came out with a white cover on it. Its like a greatest hits album. It says on it Go Insane (live).

  • scratch that...my whole life

  • i'd give up 5 years of my life to be like Lindsey

  • Hi, can anyone tell me if this video and the one of him playing big love is from the dance DVD?? If not what is the DVD called. Awsome!!

  • yes, they're both from the THE DANCE DVD... and this one is played right after big love...

  • the reason the original version sounds that way is that it was done back in the 80s, thats the way it was done back then for some songs

  • Man that crowd is weak....i would kill to be there, and i know for sure i would of been cheering louder than Lindsey's voice. ^^

  • I heard this song was allegedly written about Stevie Nicks, her and Lindsey had a brief affair on the Fleetwood Mac Mirage Tour.

  • that could be true she wrote silver springs about him thats way she was screaming at him at the end of the song at this concert check it out it gives me the chills

  • you cant forget "go your own way", thats about her too

  • It was not a brief affair, they were in a serious relationship for years, starting from the early 70's. By the time of Mirage, they were already split for about 5 years, but you can tell they still share a connection even till this day.

  • I know they were in a relationship from like 70-76 but after they broke up the rumour was they hooked up again briefly around the Mirage time and Lindsey wrote this song about it.

  • That could be true, I know he was not over her for a long time, even though he was in another relationship.

  • The man is so talented. My Dad was a pianist. He practiced daily for hours and hours at a time... for years. You got to know how much effort and time it takes for him to get on stage and do his songs. It is awesome to think about and very inspiring.

  • In his Gift Of Screws tour, he actually plays the song the way it was originally made on the self entitled album. Never thought he would do it. Maybe on the upcoming Mac tour he could do the same with "Big Love"?

  • That's too bad. The original performance of this song sucks hard. This version added so much more aggression, tension, power and drama. It's also a very good display of his sheer awesomeness with a guitar. Like Mark Knopfler, Lindsey Buckingham never utilized a pick in his playing.

  • That's a classical guitar he's playing. It's almost never played with a pick.

  • And if you take a minute to actually do some research on Lindsey Buckingham, you'll learn that he never uses a pick live, PERIOD, which brings me back to my original point and leaves me wondering just what yours was.

  • I was so glad to finally find this song to add to my playlist. From the very first time I heard it I was so captivated and amazed.

The emotion was so intense for me. It had been along time since something had moved my spirit like that. Wow I could listen to it over and over

  • mind blowing!!!!!!

  • in an interview lindsey said that he plays the guitar like a banjo, because that's what he had first learned to play.

  • Fantastic!!!

  • I know what you mean, and it's even better to hear him live.

    He is seriously underrated.

  • If you have a chance, catch Lindsey on his current "Gift of Screws" tour, I caught him in STL, and his performance was off the charts, singing better and rocking harder than he has in years. His live guitar playing was jaw-dropping, so eccentric, unique and emotional. Truly among the best ever, will this guy ever get the recognition due him?

  • its like everytime I hear this song , I am in a medieval dream , he has talent to make us imagine a world beyond words , pure art ,, youre great Lindsey !!

  • well said!

  • he plays from his mother fucking heart!

  • Whenever great guitarists are mentioned, you never hear the name Lindsay Buckingham brought up, but clearly, this guy is among the best that ever picked up the instrument.

  • Raw..amazing

  • gay shmay. i'm gunna marry him. hee hee!

  • he's married with 3 kids

  • What a powerful voice & what an amazing musician! He leaves me in awe everytime I view his performances. Rock on Lindsey!

  • Whenever I want goosebumps, I watch this video.

  • Was this performed on the "The Dance"-Tour? Just wondering cos it's not on the album...

  • Yes, it was.

  • What a guy, what a song, what a voice!!!

    !0/10 right away!

If you haven't already, watch the live video of Big Love, class!

  • Awesome! I hadnt heard this song before i saw this vid. Does anyone know what guitar hes using in this video??

  • Seems like any nylon guitar might work as well.

    Greatest song.

  • Looks like a Rodriguez from the headstock, but they very rarely do cutaways, but might be a custom.

  • I believe lindsey's playing a rick turner custom renaisance, played through a roland syn/enhancer that tightens up the tones sharply--I remember Lindsey describing the set-up a few years ago in a mag.

  • a gibson but it's discountinued and it was edited by rick turner to sound MUCH better so it's also a custom

  • he´s the greatest musican on this planet! what an amazing song...!

  • OLE OLE OLE!!!! QUE ARTE!!!

  • One of the all time greats. Like a ghost, most people are unaware of his magical talents.

  • It's official...I now have a new favorite video on YouTube. What a PHENOMENAL musician. I think I have watched this 500 times now and I get goosebumps every time.

  • Brilliant.

  • A true classical guitarist....

  • Want to knuckle up over it?

  • He's incredible, as always. True talent.

    C.

  • Holy fucking god... what an utterly awesome version of this song.. Lindsey Buckingham is a hugely hugely underrated talent ; as a singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer. The guy has it all. Remember that, he can do it ALL.

  • It doesn't matters if this is a better or a worst version...what matters is the extraordinary vocal and guitar work of Lindsay in this song...any doubt that it's brilliant??

  • not at all

    he's a genius and a god with a guitar!

  • This is a great re-working of this song! I like what he did with "Trouble" too! The eighties versions were both cool, but these new versions both give the songs some edge and help them age well!

  • who ever thinks this song is worse is wrong lol!! this is the best!

  • I prefer this to the studio recording. Dark and poignant here, imo.

  • HE IS A GOD.

  • Amazing how he just completely altered the entire mood of the song. I think I like this better than the original version!

  • This version is waaaay better than the original studio cut.

  • Lindsey is an absolutely incredible guitarist.

This song is beautiful, it's so dark, raw, and powerful.

  • Way better than the original version. They should have included this on the CD version of "The Dance." Hauntingly beautiful!

  • well i dont care what anyone says but he is doin good for someone who cant read music and was self taut

  • unreal

  • Ahhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmm

  • THE WORD YOU ARE LOOKING FOR IS --- "ART".

Music that moves and is "personal" is what it's about...

  • Will someone please tell me why Lindsey Buckingham is such an underated artist?

  • if thats a Chet Atkins CE

can anyone tell me where the hell i can find one as well as the price?

  • Keep coming back.. haunting melody!! xx

  • Hahah.... Me liking the electric classical guitar! Awesome!

  • What I find most amazing is that for the past month since I first found this clip, only 3,000 or so new views have accrued for a paltry total of over 18k. This video should have appeal for anyone on YouTube who is a singer, songwriter, guitarist, or lover of masters of any or all 3. Lindsay Buckingham peaks as writer and performer in this video. Was the '84 overproduced version when originally released the cause of this masterpiece passing under the radar? This should be classic status.

  • Regeneration1966,

I think the overproduction of this piece the first time around was indeed the reason it was passed over. I think this is one of the reasons Buckingham was sort of passed over until the last few years. I agree with the rest of your assessment as well. Fantastic piece and performance!

  • I totally agree - especially when there is so much utter garbage out there with a huge following...

  • ... Amazing it is not the word im looking for

  • love it!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks for sharing, sweet friend!! Duch an influence on ALL their music!! I'm getting chills too!! on my vid log!! xxx:0

  • I have loved his music since '84'. The year I first heard it. Mesmerizing........

  • My favorite acoustic performance of all time. I love this song. Lindsey is brilliant.

  • Fantastic!

  • great song u a winner or a loser

  • This is so haunting.

  • Pure Magick

  • Yea definitely a lot of "finger picking" in this song.

  • thats all he does is finger pick if im not mistaken

  • The way he made this song is soooo cool. Espicaly with the fact that he never got any training or does not know how to read notes of any kind. Neither do I.

  • damn straigt which makes it alot better

  • Genius.

  • Such a Professional!

  • the meaning "voice+guitar". Full stop.

  • Lindsey is amazing - I think this is his best ever live performance. So intense, and flawless guitar.

  • Last night was my first time ever listening to this song, and I replayed it over and over into the wee hours of the morning. The song is so moving and brilliantly crafted, and that guitarplay is mesmerizing. I love it.

  • samething happened to me

  • Lindsay is a remarkable artist and my absolute favorite guitarist. This song and his performance of it here is phenomenal.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Goddamn this version is so sexy. Now if only Lindsay recorded THIS in 1984 instead of that techno shit.

  • I think you're right, this is way better than the original studio version... Also same thing for Big Love. These songs are not to be played with a disco sound.

  • No question. This arrangement makes it a totally different song.

  • Sheer awesomeness!

  • Everyone always talks about Stevie, but here is the person that made Fleetwood Mac...yes Stevie can sing, but Lindsay sings and plays one of the best guitars in music. Very underrated talent; one of the best solo performances I've ever seen!!

  • anyone have to original

  • What a musician

  • so much better than cheezy 80s sound from the one in music video...

    amazing song!

  • That came from deep inside him and he laid himself bare in front of that audience. Nothing more left to give. Great.

  • I used to see him try out new work in Maui in 1976 at LeTeuts in Lahaina and the feel of this performance was what we all felt the nights he was there. Lyndsey is still the best at giving his work 110%. A great guy as well.

  • What a great performance!!

  • 3:28 gets me every time.

  • i dare anyone to find a better so that i will i like done accousticly

  • Lindsey Buckingham, is God.

The only one that I believe in.

  • You are amazing Lindsey..

    Thank God for you.

  • beautiful

im learning how to play it

    difficult

i love how thety added reverb to the mic

and when he yells at the end of his solo and his voice just echoes throughout the place

    amazing

    thnx for the post

  • Easilly one of Lindsey's greatest performances that would become a staple-mark of his solo career and tours.

  • Amazing

  • let's not forget about the lyrics...."So I go insance....she's a lot like you!"....Wow

  • I shiver when I hear this song.

  • I agree, Kferret ... I was 15 when I saw this on VH1, the complete "Dance" concert, and within the month I had purchased his entire discography, not just Fleetwood Mac, but also his solo records ... because I was so stunned by that level of physical committment to "getting the sound right." And that fingerpicking style ... AWESOME!

  • I tell you what. I am a die hard heavy metal and death metal fan but this is my all time favorite accoustic performance. This song has so much emotion coming out of the guitar and his vocals just add to the greatness of this song.

  • by any artist.....

  • This is my fave ever live performance....

    Peace.
