  • You have no idea what memories this brings back.... Thank you so much!

  • Thanks so much for posting this! I haven't seen it in decades!

  • Skip to about 4:25 to get to the show. I used to watch this as a kid.

  • I guess even a spoof of Dicken's great classic wasn't immune to the influence of the (at the time) very recent "Saturday Night Fever" (1977).

  • When is this from? It looks like the promos are from December 1982, but the HBO logo looks like it's from the 90's. Yet it says 1978 in the title.

  • Norm MacDonald sent me here.

  • @funforalgernon How ?

  • @ClassicHBO He mentioned this during an interview. He spoke of how ridiculous this is, how Little's Nixon impression is pretty lousy, how the characters are interacting but they don't come from the same time periods...

  • They used to show this every year along with Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas. I'm sad that they don't show either of them anymore. And you can't find Emmet Otter streaming online anywhere.

  • @whoslistening2u Agreed...You do not even see them at Christmas time on DVD. All of the other inferior shows are on DVD at Target but not these...

  • He does a perfect Paul Lynde

  • Judging by the promos, this airing occured in December 1982 shortly after HBO in Space debuted.

  • @DownsA530 you're right.

  • It was filmed in 1977
