  • Worthless Homo Sapiens. OK, let's go ahead and legalize Murder, Incest and everything else. Another thing, legalize not moving your upper lip when you talk.

  • how many times can I like this?

  • Yo dude, how about over the counter heroin ? Sure would solve a lot of law enforcement, judicial & prison issues. Oh wait, that means a lot of unemployed cops (DEA included), lawyers, judges and jailers. Guess that won't fly. Oh well, back to Nancy Reagan's "just say no !"

  • Can't wait to see him in person at the Breaking Convention

  • DR. Rick Doblin is a great man! Keep up the good work!

  • May the power be with this happy camper. 1 luv

  • he is very happy!!injoy extazy

  • he has a speech impediment from too much ecstasy, black eyes from lsd, he looks like a bud. like a guy who is way into something.

  • i want to bottle that happiness

  • he looks happy...

  • im all for thc being used as a drug

but not marijuana since it has too many substances so it effects can be unknown and impossible to study

  • If anyone takes these drugs "to hide away from the fact that you're going to die" then they will miss the mark. You will deal with your most pressing issues if you want to or not. It is NOT an escape from reality but a method to break down the walls that people erect as a form of protection.

  • @kjgear

    exactly.

  • ...to accept and come to terms with.

  • 1mm x 1mm x 1mm = 1 miligram = 1000 micrograms of water. A 1000 microgram LSD trip, was a freaky experience for many. This substance is very potent. I guess with the hippy babyboom generation nearing retirement Dr. Rick Doblin will have plenty of volunteers willing to recapture the heady madness of the late 1960's early 70's. It may be difficult for researchers to eliminate 'bias' in their interpretation of results? Double-blind research, should only be conducted with independant 'blind' trials.

  • @WarzSchoolchild

BTW - 1mmx1mmx1mm = 1 cubic mm. NOT 1 milligram. A mm. is a unit of length & a mg. is a unit of weight (mass) so your comment makes absolutely no sense at all.

  • it's easy to insult and make stupid comments about this kind of issue because the inertia of propaganda and mythology surrounding drugs keeps the masses ignorant on the subject, so therefore ignorant comments seem acceptable and justifiable.

remember this guy has a PhD from harvard, so he probably knows a little more on the subject than most y'all out there..

  • well said, hombre!

  • end of life issues? get over it! you live, you die so live life to it's fullest like typing comments on youtube

  • exactly.. live life to it's fullest. you said it yourself. Do acid... smoke weed. live to the fullest

  • yeaaaaa

  • you are a child of the devil

  • Good work, keep it up. Bout time these substances were explored more fully!

  • Is it just me or did he look high when shooting this video?

  • Shut up you idiot

  • your mom looks severly damaged from your DICK!

  • I see what you did there.

  • he does look high, and he chuckles during his own interview... XD

  • Medical marihuana should not be limited to sick people but available for all to enjoy. I'll be lighting up in 15 seconds.

  • Education and positive information are the only way of getting soft drugs legalized. As I'm from Amsterdam I do experience it like this. Great job and good luck.

  • How do I volunteer for these studies!

  • Haha I'm all for it but man try to get someone who doesn't look super baked to be your spokesman lol

  • He looks very happy, but still he's a great spokesman. And president of the multi-disciplin...psychidelic... whatever.

  • Probably still high

  • Interesting project! I'll have to keep an eye on it.

  • damn i gotta be high all the time anyway!....if i was dying id have to be hooked up to a drip of MDMA to make any difference!

  • He looks like he has practical experience in this area!

  • Dr. Doblin quite rightly looks ecstatic now he is getting his research underway.

  • ectasy on the streets is alot diffrent then "real" MDMA. The stuff on the street is cut with other harder drugs. Man... LSD, Pot, Shrooms, and X are all very fun :D

  • actually exstacy are cut with more non drug substances. eg some times cut with small amounts of crushed grass to lacerate the stomach and make it absorb into the blood stream quicker, very nasty things go in sometimes, no way to tell unless you test it or made it yourself preety much

  • unless you buy a drug testing kit. which are pretty cheap nowadays. lol.

Just get pure mdma crystals, much safer than dirty pills.

  • not to mention while ecstasy was leagal the number of pills that contained fillers and other more harmful chemicals was much much lower, it would seem illigalization has more adverse effects then when it is leagal.

  • Hallucinogenic drugs and all mind altering substances are very important to the future of modern medicine. Anyone who thinks otherwise obviously hasn't done their research and is simply ignorant to the facts.

  • oh...it's too complicated for me.....

  • gobble gobble..

  • And Holy Shit

Acid for those near the end of their life

That's going to put shit in perspective :D

I hope the research contributes, and I hope the best trips and experiences for the testers

  • Pot, legalize it

Acid, totally! Just, inform people, cause bad trips BAD. And I personally would recommend moderation and respect, but, who know's how it would go legally

Ecstacy... That shit makes you DUMB, so bad for your brain. I don't know what kind of legality they're going for on it, but I know it would accelerate many people's therapy, but I don't know about recreation till we somehow are allowed to run the risk of human trials, cause animal ones show enough damage :(

  • legalise it !

  • What an idea for palliative care! I personally think that when people retire after a life of hard work they should be able to use drugs for recreational purposes, especially as their health deteriorates. Though if I had my choice, I would pick a spokesman who looked less like a drug addict ...

  • damn... im 21 i rent a place and i work to pay the bills, also got into marijuana recently... you can't just point marijuana or any drug (also medical drugs like Ritalin or Subutex) as a single factor that are solely responsible for the choices that we make in our lifetimes... Heroin was invented to get patients off the cocaine.

  • Heroin was isolated as a cure for morphine addiction in the 1920`s. Which we know now didn`t work!

  • Everyone I knew in college smoked marijuana at least once, and everyone I knew in high school smoked marijuana. I have known CEOs of major corporations who smoked marijuana, lawyers, doctors, and politicians, so you are bound to know losers who smoke marijuana as well.

  • Go look for yourself . . the facts are there!

Go see why after 2 centuries in Hong Kong - when McArthur landed . . it was outlawed!

Is it ant suprise - the Mormon's were the First to outlaw it in America . . .

    Church and State!

Pathetic Americans . . it's still happening today.

YOU ALL KNOW IT . . . and do nothing!

Speak out - because Silence IS AGREEMENT!!!!!!

  • As usual - people are finally waking up to the truth . . .

The American Government has be lying to you about this as well . . .

For OVER 2,500 years (That's Centuries) humans have been using marijuana to improve health and existence . . . Total documentation.

Repeatedly they say "You should NOT experience Euphoria" . . . Do you know what the dictionary says Euphoria is?

    Good Health!

Check 4 yourself - ALL FACTS!

  • um lets see this documentation from 2500 years ago...

  • It's easy - for anyone who wants the truth - and to be accurate:

Google : shaman's grave unearthed in Turpan

The highest wise men - to whom all would seek wisdom - regularly participated in the green herb.

Just try spending a few minutes a day investing in your knowledge - instead of video games.

This world NEEDS YOUR HELP - and the TRUTH!

  • Crazy Swiss

  • I live in switzerland but sorry they are better than the american

  • This guy is seriously my hero. He seems like a completely reasonable and intelligent guy. Finally, someone giving non-biased information on the subject.

  • Legalize marijuana!!!!!!!!!!111111oneoneone

  • Do subscriptions for marijuana come with a free dreadlock wig and reggae cd?

Do subscriptions for MDMA some with some banging dance music and glow sticks?

  • Yes, and Yes

  • hehe! :)

Seriously though, the article in the New Scientist mag was facinating. He doesn't just use the drugs on their own they actually use it in conjunction with pyschotheraphy/counselling. They're suing MDMA to help soldiers deal with post traumatic stress (or something like that). Just hope it works for good (collaborated efforts) and isn't going to fudge them up later in life!

  • drugs are bad m'kay

    they promote communication and thought

which is bad for you know who

  • wait wait you are going to take people with "end of life" issues and put them on lsd? Well that'll be entertaining at the very least.

  • "Nurse! The Sheets are trying to drown me!"

  • better then being covered by millions of ants and spiders...*shivers*

  • It may help these people see things in a better way, hopefully make them confront their demons rather than repress them with horrible prescription pills and talk with psychologists their entire life.

  • cool

  • LEGALIZE THE GREEN

  • I think that these drugs (and others) have a lote of potential when used in a controlled environment

  • Legalizeeee!!

  • This seems like a reasonable organization.

It's too bad the guy looks so damn worn out. Does he work too hard or is just being on film makes him extremely nervous?

  • maybe he's stoned...

  • psychedelics make you deal with your skeletons and sometimes they can be mentally exhausting. Always treat psychedelics seriously and with respect. Be careful. Marijuana should be legalized. psychedelics should be used by doctor prescription. I have no opinion on xct besides maybe marriage counseling.

  • nice.

  • The issue is the substances, its the people. Look how many people are glued to their tv looking for a false reality. All substances have a divine purpose and lesson that they can teach. That is if you approach it with respect and an educated open mind.

  • (applause)

  • i dont do drugs but i think these should be made legal. they are less dangerous than cigarettes or alcohol.

  • I would like to see someone acctually give a rational argument that weed is bad...not, it's just wrong or it kills brain cells because boxing is legal..drinking is legal...asprin is legal...never caused a deat and you feel so much better about everything without all the stumbling around pukeing and starting fights like drunks...why, because its called a gateway drug..ok so that argument is it feels so good people try to hard to get more high...yea great argument it just feels to good to allow

  • It makes people lazy. Smoking brings on all the bad things that come along with that. Its like drinking and smoking combined. It makes them see things that arent there. It creates a false sense of happiness making being happy without it harder and harder each time destroying their lives. Just because things are legal doesnt mean they should be. Alcohol is much the same way. With all the passed out drunks around here that bum off the rest of society I cant see how it is legal for them to get it.

  • The issue isn't the substances, its the people. Look how many people are glued to their tv looking for a false reality. All substances have a divine purpose and a lesson that they can teach. That is if you approach it with respect and an educated open mind.

  • kwklkwlwkwl kwl kwl

  • I seriously doubt this guy is the pioneer, there are alot more characters like these, that wanted to do the same thing, + more.

But i do agree with the cause.

  • no doubt, leary, straussman, the list would be long. but this guy is awesome.

  • sorry please read the second comment before the first one

  • can cause intoxication obviously in huge amounts (about 3 gallons on few minutes).

and about the thing between guns and drugs i think they are both just morally incorrect, sure guns kills people in the wrong hands, but rememnber that guns are also what brougth your dinner.

please think about the fact that everything is good depending of their use.

    cheers-cealac

  • hey this man is doing great thing.

maybe now it not a "moral" solution but i hope it will. for example alcohol was ilegal 100 years ago because its was morally incorrect but now i as great busisness.

yea it can be dangerous in wrong hands nobody denies it, but everything its dangerous in wrong hands, even water yea W.A.T.E.R OR H2O

  • i like how this video was posted only a couple hours after i read a bunch of stuff on timothy leary

  • Rick Doblin has never done drugs in his life.

  • That dude was baked.

  • Some tour companies have been criticised for offering tourist trips to visit the Hadzas, who have moved into settlements after giving up their hunting ways to live off holidaymakers' dollars.

As a result, alcoholism and drug abuse has become rife among them.

  • i can feel a bogus illness coming on so i get get some weed xD for my gammy leg arghh the pain xD

  • dont mock us asshole, appitite problems is no laughing matter,

  • considering you just rude private messaged me ill respond here. Im not mocking anyone, i smoke weed on a regular basis for recreational use if theres a medical use too Fucking GREAT! about time they legalised it in my mind. dude you twisted that into some weird shit are you a space cadet?. I know all about zeitgeist and i dont see the relevance here, and appetite problems, dude sound like you frazzled your brain.

  • mmnaayhh don't mock us! now that is a statement that demands respect.

  • drugs,oh how very terrible,lol!!!

  • xtc and lsd are dangerous, psilocybin cubensis is much more safe,

  • MDMA sold on the street can be dangerous. And LSD is very powerful so, yes, in the wrong hands it can be dangerous. But they are tools that require one to treat them with respect. A table saw can be used to make beautiful products but it can also cut your arm off.

  • i just dont see any other illegal substances being legit for medicinal uses other than marijuana, dmt and psilocybin cubensis, thats all,

careful when around table saws btw,

  • guns are tools to be respected too, its working out really well.

    /sarcasm.

  • Come again. Are you comparing psychedelics to guns, trigunner87?

  • are you comparing them to buzz saws? because i think guns are a much more accurate comparison

  • Buzz saw? Am I suppose to take you serious? It is already obvious you are close-minded and nothing I type will ever penetrate the wall you have erected. Have a good day.

  • buzz saws are your comparison don't blame me if your comparison is laughable.

  • Is it possible for you to try to be even slightly open-minded? You don't have to prove anything. The tablesaw I mentioned was an example (i.e. harm resulting from something that was intended to produce good). Then, out of left-field, you use guns as an example. I asked you for clarification and you answer my question with a question (and also didn't explain why you would compare psys to guns). If you truly want to add to this discussion then explain your position. Is that too much to ask for?

  • harm resulting from something that was intended to produce good. id say that defines drugs pretty well actually. if you were to legalize these drugs what makes you think people are responsible enough to respect them? look how many drunk driving deaths there are each year, people clearly dont respect alcohol. now how about firearms, "tools to be respected" again, ppl arent responsible enough to use them wisely, this is evident in the number of gun related crimes.

  • Yet, who are you to limit the ones that are? Who are we to limit any one that is willing to respect and care. Who are we to strip people of their natural rights to put what ever the fuck they want in their body, because the others are pig headed idiots? I say legalize and for a licensing and education system. You will always have the idiots, its if you learn from their mistakes and grow from it, or fall limp in the sun light.

  • "respect and care" If you read my comment im sure your comment about the innocent being killed would surly be toned down a lot.

When you act defensive and close yourself off to the new steps of life, you do nothing but condemn us all to a stagnate state of life, where those people killing the innocent will continue drive the streets. Open your mind and ears before you get to quick to defend your cause, cause someone on your side with an important message might just slip past you.

  • 43 years

  • Is it just me or does he look a little glassy eyed ?

  • Very controversial, as an occasional user of marijuana I would enjoy the legalization of it, but would it benefit society? No. And Im sure that everyone, even the supporters of it, in the back of their head, know it wouldnt.

  • Does it benefit society by having it illegal?

  • no it benefits the elite of the investment class to carry out their nazi like plots!! watch the zeitgeist documentary people!!! it will explain everything!!!

  • I'm a volunteer!!! ;DDD

  • I would like to see how it shows out - if it really works as suppose...

Im a little sceptic, but think the ideas is interresting (from a non-drug user point of view, and I never want to be a drug user!)

  • Great but there will always be people who will abuse it.

  • What is your point? There will always be people who abuse alcohol also. There will always be people who will abuse just about anything. Sex, power, trust, etc...

  • Marijuana I can understand the argument, but i disagree with. But LSD and Ecstasy is just retarded. If you gave people someone who was paranoid one of those, it would make it like a million times worse.

Bad video from a channel, that I have a little less respect for

  • I agree that ecstasy shouldn't be legal, but LSD isn't as harmful as people make it out to be.

  • Yeah I'm basing what I say on purely on Medical studies that I read from. I'm not a drug user so I have to base what I know on reliable sources that I can find. I'm interested in what you have to say on LSD, could you elaborate please

  • I highly recommend you visit erowid(dot)org. It is a database containing information on these and many more substances, and it even has user experiences/stories

  • cheers mate

  • LSD and MDMA (and psychedelics in general) are powerful tools that can be used with people who are near death deal with that experience (among many other uses). Do I think teenagers should be partying with acid? No, absolutely not. The psychedelic experience is profoundly influenced by a person's set (their mental state) and the setting in which the substance is taken. Responsible, well-adjusted adults are the only ones who should touch psychedelics.

    Google: DMT: "The Spirit Molecule"

  • cheers mate

  • Too bad this kind of essential research has been delayed half a century by puritanical attitudes.

  • Dr. Doblin IS THE MAN!! KEEP UP THE GR8 JOB!!!

  • Says some random person on youtube.

  • Why? Because they show an interview of someone, i.e. do their job in reporting about stuff? Ridiculous...

  • Bullshit.

  • Discover magazine also ran a story on using LSD and magic mushrooms for treating terminaly ill patients. After the 60's, ethics commissions put the brakes on this kind of research but it's been gaining proponents because of it's success rates.

  • what about psilocybin?!

  • lsd and ectasy maybe no but marijuana why not ?

  • Im going to harvard or Switzerland! Switzerland first thats for sure :)

  • Very different approach from Timothy Leary - might be promising

  • he is on extasy, i mean look at his face lol

  • Marijuana should be made legal... the beneficial aspects of weed (and hemp) far outweigh the few negatives.

  • I wouldn't say so, tell me how the amazing positives of marijuana...

However I do agree that it souuld be legalized. Thought it there should be some regulations, like in Holland...

  • yea im not so sure i agree about benefits out weighing the negatives. I think it should be leagal like alchohol but i don't think that it is ever going to be considered "good for you"

  • Chemotherapy and other patients taking drugs are frequently malnourished as a result of nausea-inducing drugs. Marijuana helps overcome that so they can eat.

It also treats stress, OCD, situational depression, and many others. Do the research before believing the government's hype.

  • cool
